devilishjim
Can anybody give me directions to get to Y NOT 1 & 2 I was told to go to Decision Corner and go right for 2.5 miles I walked a fence line until I found a barb wire gate, But no claim markers
Golden Ray
Jim, am not sure if the Y NOT is still alive & well. As I understand it he hadto drop some claims (like most clubs in the Stanton area.) due to increasedBLM fees. Stop by the Weaver Mining Assn. office in Congress. Ask Julieas she knows ( things are changing every day in that area) most of whatsgoing on.
devilishjim
Ok thanks will go by and see Julie now Y-not still has 320 acres.. It kinda looks like BLM is wanting to take over our land Yeah Julie got me straightened out on directions I think, hope I can find it now. grubstake
Been a long time since I was out that way, I though the Y-not claim was on the road in to Stanton, across from the water tank? on the left side. Grubstake

devilishjim
What I am trying to figure out is why didnt I do this when I was younger. I at times shoveled gravel into a cement mixer all day long and then finished out the day drinking beer...If only I knew then what I know now
grubstake
Well I did do it when I was younger, I started doing this mining stuff when I was in high school, I had claims, and my brother and I did alright, But then I went into the Army in 66 and to Nam in 67-68-69, then to Germany in late 69- to 73, got out in Feb, 73, went to work two days later, driving longhaul truck, and drove until 89. then back to mining gold on the Merced river, until 94, then back to longhaul again. Had my first heart attack late that year, Still kept driving, until the 2nd one in 96 then DOT kicked me off the road, so it was back to detecting. devilishjim
Heck Grubstake we were almost neighbors I was born in Turlock and lived in Livingston till I was 7 then we moved to Glenn,Ca to pull cow tits.. Happiest days of our lives when my Dad decided to sell cows and retire....Happiness lasted about 30 seconds when he said being as we didnt have Dairy anymore it was time to go get a job I watched guys and tried it myself but just really couldn't get my heart set on running a shovel. So I became a heavy equip operator and mechanic. The last guy I worked for made the comment that if it didnt have a key on it he couldnt get me to run it. My eyes werent good enough for the service or I would have been there with ya.
