Heavy Silver and a Whatizit

Recommended Posts

Got out for a morning hunt at a local park and did great. The silver chain came after 35-minutes of digging pennies and canslaw, at about 3" deep, then after about 15 more pulltabs I got a "coke can" signal, but for whatever reason I decided to dig it. Out popped a 2.5-ounce Sterling silver bracelet (about 5" deep) - Wow!

The cigar shaped do-hicky has me stumped. It is heavy (brass, copper, just don't know). Anybody have any clue?

It is a spring AU Seeker.

No difference Rockhunter, same/same. Sterling made in the USA after approximately 1854, always has a sterling mark. It may say Sterling. It may be marked.925 or show the fraction 925/1000.

Fantastic Terry!!! I'd have never guessed on the wire splice either, it appears to be copper? or Brass? It probably went off in your headphones like a bomb!
