TomH
Hey all: Was able to get out today with Dad and Jean.Met up at LSD and did some detecting and dryland dredging......sucking up dirt. Jean did well with her 2100. Got it all tuned up and she was digging up some really small bullet fragments. No yellow stuff but if it was there she would have gotten it. Same for dad...just bullet fragments.I sucked up some areas out of a wash and got this out of one bucket after running it though the trommel tonight. The other buckets just had some small flakes. Since the the gold came from the last bucket up higher in the wash I know where to go now Might be a good drywash area. Was pretty much just sampling today.I did find a brown round thing sunbaking and looking at me wondering what the heck im doing out there. Not rattling...just chilling Was a good time out and not that hot either.Enjoy.Tom H.

primalspirit
Nice pickers, Tom Thanks for taping up my cords and tuning up my SD.Great day with the Toms, despite Tom Jr. losing his glasses, We retraced our steps 5 or 6 times but those glasses just vanished. I took a nice pic but can't figure out how to post it.

Nugget Shooter
Hey Tom, that is an AZ Black Tail Rattlesnake and they are very mellow and one of the most non aggressive of our Arizona rattlesnakes.
fredmason
Nice snake...Jean, I notice your heavy-duty boots...I bet they have metal shanks and brass eylets, if so, you are going to have a time keeping your coil from detecting them...you will likely step into the coil field with one foot or the other...of course I am just guessing...On my trip to Moore Creek I was detecting along, minding my own affairs and walked into a nest of paper wasps...after slapping at the wasps and slapping myself silly I realized i had slapped my brand new glasses off my face...never did find the balsted things. I did learn to pay better attention up there...yellow jacket wasps, paper wasps, mossy's and bears, mooses and wild prospectors...there were lots of things to attend to.fred
primalspirit
Fred, good catch about the boots -- it never occurred to me. I'll have to pay attention to that.Au Seeker, thanks for the link. I'll wait 'til Tom cleans out the spot before I post pics just in case the location can be tracked
