Wind up thingy

With all of those gears, I still think it's a clock mechanism.

But what do I know. I tried to trade a boat for a couple of detectors.

With the gears and the coil spring... Some type of time keeping devise was my guess as well. Second guess was some type of wind device.

Yeah and I may have bitten 20 years ago, but most of my spare time is now spent with a detector in my hands hanging out with the likes of you...

Your close Bill.....player piano wind up thingy.....when I was about 8 or 9 I took one just like that out

of grand-ma's player piano.....that was the start of my decline as a mechanic.....was going to fix it

but the only thing that got fixed was my butt with Dad's belt.....he had a short sense of humor....
