Terry Scott
Recently we headed out to gold basin to give our Canadian friend Fred (Trainermick) the 5 cent tour hoping that he would find his first space rock. Made a quick pit stop for some our gourmet american fast food (jack in the box, which Fred had never heard of) and continued on taking the scenic white hills pass to GB. During the drive some good natured joking ensued after Fred claimed Canada defeated America in the battle of 1812. After a couple quick pointers on the Whites GMT and a warning to stay away from the jumping cholla, it was obvious Fred knew his way around a detector as he was off and swinging like a madman. After his first sticky hot rock, Fred quickly realized the difference. We hunted hard all day and ended up with 218 grams total the largest was 118 grams. Unfortunately Fred didn't find one this day, but as we all know gold basin can be a finicky mistress. We all had a great day, good company, and I know Fred will be taking a much closer look at those pesky hot rocks back in Canada. Im confident we can expect a find report from him in the near future. Happy hunting!
