USFS NOI shallow residual-eluvial placer sampling

Recommended Posts

Just a word to the prudent. If you intend to placer mine on large yardage scale with an excavator, dump truck, wash plant, etc., on USFS lands. There are certain regulatory requirements that require NEPA, EA & EIS, Biological Assessments (BA), Biological Evaluations (BE), and specialists’ reports. Then “Publication” periods, that take considerable time for public comments. Then establishing a reclamation bonding amount. That process can take 18 months, sometimes far longer. I attached a PDF file RE: USFS Bonding Requirements. Just so the uninitiated can get an idea of the hoops you have to jump through. Object being, start EARLY.
