Sonoran Dave
Love them pictures Dave, you are livin large my friend!! take a deep breath of grand canyon air and soak it all in buddy. Trust me.... I did Gog big or go home right? I would hate to be sitting on my front porch in my later years(provided I HAD a front porch...and have later years) and regret the things I did not try....I seem to have very little to contribute to the forum nowadays, with everything frozen here, and no prospecting to be had So if Bill dont mind, I'm going to keep this thread alive with pics from all over. If you have seen one of them posted before...my apologies These pics were taken from the summit of Elden Mt, looking down at Flagstaff. A little out of focus...sorry

Prescottstyle
Yep...Phelps Dodge copper mine!We filled a small pan w/ malachite and azurite specimans. Awesome place to rockhound. Arctic Dave is most correct.. this area is the best rockhounding in Yavapai Co. In between the foreground and the old Phelps Dodge mine in the back you will find great crystals, Azurites and assoc. minerals from the porpheritic action of the area. Not much gold left in the old placer locales though. I was in the area a few weeks ago trying to spot the cinnibar locale. http://bit.ly/VtrDlm http://bit.ly/VwGN5r Edited December 4, 2012 by Prescottstyle
Prescottstyle
Took a few good ones, so I'll share them a few at a time Good shot! With Maverick Mnt. as a backdrop, a guy can never take a bad one! I see Tommy's house on Lucky Strike Mine is centered in pic. He's neighbors with Mark Renzi on a 200 acre spread.
Bucket
Absolutely fantastic shots Dave!! Loved em all! I scored a couple of Occotillo's like the one in your last shot, put em in the ground next to my house and they are doing quite well. I'll be stoked if some red flowers pop out the tip in the next few years.
Ant Man
Great shots, Dave. Thank you very much for posting them. Time for me to get the heck out of this office and play hooky for the rest of the day just to breathe in some fresh air.Paul
Sonoran Dave
It's my pleasure to post them!!! Bucket, I can't wait to do the same thing...when I get my own property down there. Thinkin of selling my claims in Nome, the proceeds should be enough to buy a couple acres in the Prescott area(out of town anyway) Then the only reson I have to come back to AK, is to visit. Probably enjoy it more!Ant Man, long time no hear! Play hookey, fake your own death, whatever it takes...get out and enjoy!!! Prescottstyle...welcome to the forum! Thank you all for the kind words. Zoey has been in the hospital(she was released yesterday and is doing great), and quite frankly the little companionship I recieve here really helped get me through. You guys are great!Lots more pics...stay tuned!
