jacklbrown49
I live in West central IL and have found a speck or two in the pans I've ran here on the farm. Years ago I tried the Atlantic City area in Wyoming and didn't do any better there. When I say a speck I mean you need a magnifier to see it. I built a 2.5 inch infinity jet last summer and am going to start building the rest this winter. I used a trash pump and it was kind of sluggish. I would like to know if anyone is familiar with good pressure pumps. There is a fellow in Oregon that makes a pump for straight keyed shafts, can't think of the name offhand. My problem is nobody posts the specs on the pumps they make. I have been to Keene, Proline, Jobes and others. My trash pump is 340 gpm at 34 psi with 3" suction and discharge. I would like to talk to others here in IL to see what they are using for sluices or dredges. This is strictly flour gold that I have seen and most places around here have a lot of glacial washout that is not to large (gravel and sand) with a few cobbles and boulders up to 2 feet across. Please let me know if there any other Illini as crazy as myself.ThanksJack
