Super magnets?

Has anyone heard of Neodymium magnets damaging a detector, coils or batteries from being stored close together... Like on a pick in the same case? or even laying on the ground next to each other? I know these will seriously mess up a computer monitor or cell phones. Just curious. And no guys, I don't want to experiment on my own.

Nope, won't hurt a thing as far as detecting gear. It will wipe out your credit cards, drivers license, etc if you carry your wallet detecting and and get it too close for too long. It's that magnetic strip on the back.

Some of these detectors have a memory of what you left the settings at before you shut it off...... Couldn't it wipe that info out like the info on a credit card?....those earth magnets are really strong

You know those white clips they put on the high dollar items in various dept stores ... some of them are now released with an magnet ... I'm guessing it's an earth magnet ... Just happened to notice that when buying a combination electronic stud finder and circuit finder meter from Sears a couple months ago ... they released the security tag with a magnet. NOW PLEASE... DO NOT ANY OF YOU TRY TO DO ANYTHING STUPID :stupidrb: WITH THAT INFORMATION! :nono: I only posted it as an observation of another use for rare earth magnets.
