Meteorite? or what

Recommended Posts

Meteorites are rarely round. In addition, the "glowing" you mentioned is not at all characteristic of a meteorite (at least as far as I know). It also just does not have the look of a meteorite, so my opinion is that it is not one.

By the way, I used to have a flourescent mineral collection so I'm aware of any properties they might show. It could also be thermofluorescence. If you left globe out in the sun and got it warm, could glow in the dark like you stated.

Thanks everybody for answering.. Mikestang thanks for your advice, the google one, in fact "it glows in the dark" ;) just like meteorites (good one Goldfinder)... well, frankly I just didnt know where to look. Now that we know it's not a meteorite, maybe we could change this thread to another sub forum.

Goldfinger, thanks for the link, it does show triboluminescence properties(when you hit it, it glows) and thermoluminescence properties(glows when exposed to a light/heat source) . I was not able to find which mineral it was..
