some rocks for id'ing

Recommended Posts

The first one is a jasper. It could be interesting once it is cut but hard to tell.

The second one is a common jasper. It will cut nice stones but usually not worth the time and effort.

The two green rocks are interesting but cannot tell what they are. Would be nice to cut a slab off and see how solid it is.

My guess on the red one is heavily iron stained quartz. It appears to have a crystalline structure that would not be visible in an agate.

The last one I don’t have any good guesses.

thanks. the green one is very hard. I had a heck of a time breaking it with a malet. serpentine is supost to be soft, right? if it's hardness is 4-5.
