cochetopa
Hi,Last year, I retired and moved with my Numero Uno from Maryland to Colorado’s western slope. Last month, I bought a Minelab Eureka Gold detector and joined the local beepin’ club, which has a placer claim a few miles downstream from Telluride. I have practiced on coins in my backyard and went out last weekend (regardless it is winter in Colorado) with the Minelab EG to a location with no gold, but I just wanted to demonstrate proof of concept to myself that I could find something metal that was buried out of sight. As you pros could guess, I easily found metal junk: bullets and empty shells, but also a couple of hot rocks. For my first trip I was very happy with the results.I have lurked within these forms for the past decade, but unable to participate for a variety of reasons. Now, that’s changed. I want to thank all you veterans whose posts I have read and learned from. I especially want to thank our several forums hosts: Bill Southern, Chris Gholson and Rob Allison. IMHO, you guys are four aces.Living my dream...C
