GeoJack
Was overlaying a 1891 map of our area (Gold Discovery area in California) on current topo map and was suprised to see creeks mislabeled and in the wrong place. In reading historical publications for research, it makes you wonder exactly what area they are talking about in the text and what maps were used to describe the location of an area.Leaves much to the imagination as to where things really are verses where they were said to be.More potential for misdirected investigations.
