Mr-Meteorite
Hi all,For those of you interested, the movie "Heaven Strewn" - in which I have a small cameo via the cover of meteorite magazine - will have its Hollywood premier on Aug 26th. I worked with the director and producers on the set. I provided the iron meteorite that you see being thrown threw the SUV window as well as all the meteorite hunting and classification info. Here's some of my Photos and Trailerhttp://www.mr-meteorite.net/filmingheavenstrewn.htmTrailer: http://newfilmmakersla.com/or for those on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000519412033 This is NOT realy a meteorite movie but does have meteorite hunting and classification scenes. Not a big deal but it was fun to do! Uncle Ron
That scene was filmed at the Trona Pinnacles...Trona is where I grew up...Dad was the football coach for the high school...The Pinnacles is also where they filmed Planet of the Apes and several other movies ... Mr-Meteorite
Ya, that's right Ron. IT was a strange place and I think pretty different from years ago. It looked almost like a ghost town now. I'll bet there are meteorites out there too!
Uncle Ron
Ruben, if you go to the north end of Searles Valley there's a huge salt flat that we used to race our old beat up hot rods on...Nobody ever thought about meteorites, but I bet it would be worth a look since it covers such a huge area... miles x miles ... As kids we used to find camp sites where the original Death Valley 49ers camped and abandoned their wagons and belongings ...It was so common to find that we didn't even think about how special it was ... I used to have a bunch of stuff we picked up, but now all I have left is an old purpled glass inkwell ... Cheers, Unc
