highbanker58
Yesterday- Friday morning at Ganes Creek a friend of mine Tom Cooper was detecting next to me with a Whites MXT with a stock coil.He got a LOUD target and pulled out a 10.6 oz solid GOLD slug.We had been throwing our trash back and forth all week, so when he was done yelling he threw something at me. It landed at my feet, it was the biggest hunk of GOLD I have ever seen anyone dig up. I'm still in Alaska and don't have a good e-mail connection, so the picture will have to wait.. Allen in MT
Ah yes, very nice find, brings back memories of my trips up there, the last group I took in was when Steve B of Idaho found the 33 oz'er, MXT's did well up there because for the lack of mineralization, My biggest find was in the oz range, and many smaller. great trips and lots of memories, you guys did good , congrats :whoope: Allen in MT

highbanker58
Tom's nugget was dig out of the corner of the push, on the backside of the mound- down 16 - 18 " in the deepest part of the slope. Next to the road ,under a bunch of tree limbs. I saw Tom today and he is still floating on air.I'm real happy for him, he hunts hard, doesn't take breaks, works thru dinner and walked back to camp ...... he deserves it.
