Terry Scott
So after a couple days at the Tucson show drooling over all the space rocks, my hunting partner Robert C. and I headed for Gold Basin. We stopped at Rosie's Den for the requisite combo burrito and took the back way in to GB. (Saw a nice buck at the pass) After hunting the main area for several hours with no luck, we moved to a less traveled area. Robert C. always seems to have a uncanny sense of where to hunt, and said "Ok this is it". I decided to go with the Gold Max coil on my GMT and less than 10 minutes later and about 30 feet from the road I got a nice loud signal. Dug down about 4 inches and scored a 115 grammer! (My only find of the day, but I'm not complaining) Rob was not to be outdone, and ended up with three total the nicest one a cool round 68 grammer that has a very dark patina (pictures attached) Good day in GB and makes up for the days of nothing, and the beer sure tasted good that evening! Marvin must have missed these haha.

Bunk
Very Pretty!!! What would the back way to Gold basin be? pray tell...fredHey Fred, I would think the back way would be coming in off of Hwy 93, over the White Hills.Bunk
Terry Scott
Fred , yes one of the back ways is driving through white hills off hwy 93 like bunk said, but it can be a little tricky if you don't know which way to turn. I've gotten lost there before, another way is off temple bar road but it's longer.
Kaimi
Aloha Terry,I just gotta love that Goldmax Sierra coil I bet. I have not even bothered putting my stock coil on since I have gotten my "ears trained" to that honker of a coil. Awesome finds you guys have there.Hope to run into you guys one day out at GB.Aloha and be safe out there.Stan aka Ka'imi
highbanker58
Awesome space rocks. I was up there last year, and all I found was 2 Gold nuggets. Maybe I'll have better luck next time and find my first space rock !! Did you turn off the iron reject on the GMT? Dave
