Toggle boots

Recommended Posts

Heres my tip which I've been using for many years---with every new beeper I use toggle boots to keep the dust out--these boots have been on 3 different beepers already so when I sell one I take them off and put them on the new toy :thumbsupanim Mike C...:ph34r2:

Definitely trick! They also have the full boot style which I have used before. I got mine online but forgot what the size was.

I found some in Vegas but they are to big for the gold bug. I wanted to put them on when I first got it but didn't. Had to send the detector back to replace one of the switches that I guess got dirt in it.

Hi Bill,

I totally agree.

This is the kind of thing Minelab could be doing.

It is cheap and very effective.

I would buy them in a heartbeat if you carried them

on your website, although I know it would be a drag

mailing out little packages for 12 bucks or whatever.

Anyway, Happy New Year

Flak

Hi Wes,

I think for a 4 to 5 thousand dollar detector

an extra 20 or whatever dollars that might prevent

repairs later, is not too big a deal,

but then I'm not manufacturing them either.

I know I am always amazed at how much grit and dirt

the box picks up during a day out.

All the best and Happy New Year,

Flak

Hi Wes,

I love the idea of using these toggle boots,

but Granger is difficult register with.

Do you know any other company that might carry them?

And what size are they?

Thanks,

Flak, I actually ordered from these guys, but it was shipped from Graingers. I only ordered one to make sure it was the correct part, which it is. Shipping was really fast.

For the half boot version check the other link I posted. I am pretty sure it is the correct seal but you may want to double check as I havent ordered those yet.

Radio Shack or auto electrical supplier

street rod or racing products

Heres some less than 2 bucks apiece and cheaper in quantity 10 or more

http://order.waytekw...20FOR%20TOGGLE/

I bought ten of these and they are definatly not the right size, too big and their catalog shows no other

Yes their for regular size toggles I found that out too. We need smaller sizes. I'm going to try to apply heat from a blow dryer and see if they will shrink in size enough to be used on the smaller size switch.

Hi Wes and Mike C.

Wes- I ordered from the place you ordered from, thanks everyone for the tips (no pun intended).

This is another item that it seems to me should be standard on a Minelab.

Thanks for putting up the thread and the info Mike.

All the best,

Flak
