Au Seeker
If you're going to be detecting for gold nuggets it maybe not what you need, I don't know much at all about the Pioneer BH 202 other than it is designed as a coin shooter. But if it's the only detector you can afford you should be able to learn a little about metal detecting with it and find some coins, and who knows if you get over a nugget that is not to deep it should hit on the nugget if the ground is not to hot.Be sure to check out the detector throughly to insure it is working properly before buying. Here are some links to help you make your decision.Reviews. http://metaldetectorreviews.net/detectors/128-1-pioneer202.htmlOwner's manual. http://www.detecting.com/pdffiles/p202man.pdf Skip

I guess ill have to shop around a bit then. I dont have alot of money to spend on one right now. An I dont want to buy one that will not work on gold. Most of the Detectors I see are 400$ and up. I cant do that right now.

Jerry2197
I plan on hitting banner grade and just pan out a few buckets of dirt from there when i get some time... it would be nice to have a metal detector with me but a few buckets of dirt will do. Nugget Shooter
Yes indeed 400.00 and up is typical for a good used gold VLF and most coin shooting detectors will have ground balance and hot rock issues in the gold fields that will drive you batty with falsing.
