socalgolddigger
I am looking into purchasing a claim in an old hydraulic mine outside of Nevada city, Ca. Does anyone know of any reason I would not be able to mine in this are? Or current legislation that would prohibit it?

Micro Nugget
Hoser said it well. Just look at the California State Quarter. See anything about being the Golden State? No. History has been re-written and the laws are being re-written to suit those who would are guided by the John Muir types. Buying into an old hydraulic area claim today would be like buying into an ice home delivery service after refrigerators were invented. Be careful the claim you are being offered isn't located in the Malakoff Diggins State Park.
