Goldfinger 43
Yeah- It's back in the news again. But this will probably go on some more even after the judges ruling on ownership. Some idiot thinks it's worth 400 million... :hahaha: http://www.nuggetshooter.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=11950Steve
DolanDave 703
Hey Bill, I saw that on the internet also, looks like several people bought into it. Interesting to see who will get it... Unless the judge just divides it up into pieces :???:

Johnno 64
Thanks Skip. I kept telling Kat, you really don't want this. It's not good enough for you. Phew!!! You just saved my life. Now I can say I told you so
Goldfinger 43
The fact it was dyed is not surprising, I would bet at least 80% of the gemstones you see today are treated in some way. Emeralds are oiled and dyed, sapphires and rubies are heat treated, opals are cooked, turquoise is stabilized, topaz is irradiated,ect... Only well trained gemologists will know for sure in most cases. In others, they can only speculate. Reputable dealers will disclose treatments. So buyer beware if you think you're getting a natural stone,,,,I can understand why this guy was arrested for fraud since the monetary value was so large.Steve

Hoser John 1,240
Last night the National Geo channel had the complete story of the 400 million Bahia monster specimen. What a great story to be continued in the courtroom as 5 claimants battle it out for the biggest and best specimen ever uncovered in history. Bummer the other was yet another scam, sure looked nice but must lay hands on to test and looks can be deceiving-tons a au 2 u 2 -John
