Bolder Sized Emerald?

Recommended Posts

Hey Bill,

I saw that on the internet also, looks like several people bought into it. Interesting to see who will get it... Unless the judge just divides it up into pieces :???:

:WOW: such a righteous gift from nature would be ruined by splitting. Worth MUCH more intact and only 1 man ever actually paid for it and then conned that is was stolen but really resold but never paid for as the con got conned  as ye sow,so shall ya reap the thieving creep-should be a good miners soap opera for awhile-John :nono:

Have been trying to find out what happened to this 840 lb emerald specimen. Not much other then this article. Still a lot of issues to resolve. But someone is full of crap. Someone trying to put an 840 stone into an overhead luggage compartment? Complete BS :nutty: :hahaha:

And the stone is worth 400 million? More BS. :hahaha: :nutty:

Hi Guys-

Here's another large emerald from Brazil that was mined and faceted into a rather large stone.... That's my idea of a rock...

Wow. Put my bid on it, but I don't think 6 coke cans, a cabo wabo bottle, 6 marbles, 2 bullets from the civil war and pink thongs (upper and lower) gain me any ground.

But I'll just wait and see.

Johnno-

You'd better up your bid a little bit. Your wife is going to be mad if she doesn't get it. :hahaha:

I just found out that the guy in the video was arrested for fraud, ..."he’s accused of multiple fraud offences out of Hamilton, Ont."...,the emerald was died in India, and it didn't sell in the auction, it would of been nice if it did sell so he could pay his bail!!! :brows:

The fact it was dyed is not surprising, I would bet at least 80% of the gemstones you see today are treated in some way. Emeralds are oiled and dyed, sapphires and rubies are heat treated, opals are cooked, turquoise is stabilized, topaz is irradiated,ect... Only well trained gemologists will know for sure in most cases. In others, they can only speculate. Reputable dealers will disclose treatments. So buyer beware if you think you're getting a natural stone,,,,

I can understand why this guy was arrested for fraud since the monetary value was so large.

Last night the National Geo channel had the complete story of the 400 million Bahia monster specimen. What a great story to be continued in the courtroom as 5 claimants battle it out for the biggest and best specimen ever uncovered in history. Bummer the other was yet another scam, sure looked nice but must lay hands on to test and looks can be deceiving-tons a au 2 u 2 -John :brows:
