GlennM
Went out for a little while this morning, mainly just lookey-loo'ing, but did turn on the detector a few times.Got skunked, but did find a geocache that had hearts racing for a minute with the signal it gave off on both the GMT and 2200. Don't know why it went to 0% on the GMT being that it was an ammo can, but...All in all had some fun out in the rhino and found a few spots that produced evidence of having been worked long ago, but not in recent years.Next we'll have to go deeper in. Terry Soloman
Your day beat the Holy Cow out of mine Glenn.. Sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Westside Highway, :*&$*(: 2-hours into Manhattan; $65 to park for three-hours; business meeting with five humorless suits on the 27th floor; :cigar: back into traffic, across the bridge, and home by 7:30pm. Give me that Rhino ANY day - skunk or not! - TerryWent out for a little while this morning, mainly just lookey-loo'ing, but did turn on the detector a few times.Got skunked, but did find a geocache that had hearts racing for a minute with the signal it gave off on both the GMT and 2200. Idaho Al
Hello Glenn and Terry, My day was'nt to bad. Worked on the lawn mower, mowed the lawn, shined the Harley. Headed for Red Fish Lake in Stanley Basin, two many pepoles to detect the beaches so Rode over Galena Summit to Sun Vally and then back to Challis, nice ride. My X- Terra 705 fits in the Tourpack Trunk on my Ultra Glide. Nice day, nice ride........Terry I live in the 3rd largest county in Idaho, Custer County, no stop lights, no train tracks, very little traffic, population about 5k..................Idaho Al
SGTFDA
Now Glenn did not tell the whole story. We were going over a pile of 2 ft chunks of quartz. I had my 2000GPM with a 6" coil. The 2000 went nuts when I ran the coil over the top of the quartz. Glen went for a sledge to knock a piece off. When he bent over to smack one of the chunks he spots a ammo can under all those huge chunks. A geocatch. HA HA the joke was on us. The signal sound real good being 3 ft away from the can.I went along on a invite from Glenn. He is a great host and I had a good time. He is hell on wheels with his Rhino. He took that thing into places I never expected one could go! It's nice to make a good friend in a new area.
Fritz
Terry... You are my hero... and have more lives than a cat. Living and working in a human ant-farm must be hell. My heart goes out to you. When I married (35 yrs ago) we agreed to live our lives 100 miles from any signal lights. Those lights are dangerous. They mean conjestion, crime, no stars at night, too many chain stores, etc. I hope you can join the rest of us in the real world soon. Tonight I'm closer to outspace than to any Walmart, Home Depot, McDonalds, etc. The only 'chain' store closer than 125 miles is a Napa dealer. And once that went in, the city council passed a No Chain Store or Francise ordinance. Of course we pay $3.90/gal for gas today, but our halibut, shrimp, and salmon are free, just catch them. We'll keep you in our prayers until you escape that rat-race...Keep Smiling... Fritz (and Da Wife) :cigar:

Either way - It definitely got our pulses going several seconds.Yeah, Rhino's are akin to Mt Goats.Sorry about that mesquite tree... It was definitely a fun outing. Next time we'll have to do a little more research and get in to some good nugget or treasure ground.

Give me wide open spaces, I guess I can handle claustrophobia seven days out of the week, but I don't have to like it.
