U.S. Reverses Stance on Treaty to Regulate Arms Trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Please forward this message to others who may be concerned about the direction in which our country is headed.

We are being led like a lamb to the slaughter (Socialism/Dictatorship).

Well, if illegal immigrants can live in this country with impunity what makes you think the gun owning American population will willingly give up their weapons? Just will not happen, even if the UN says it is illegal for citizens to own weapons.....!

I agree, the only thing they will accomplish, is to make us all outlaws. I have confidence that many, many Americans will stand against this. We have always had the right to bear arms. No arrogant SOB of a President, is going to be able to change that.

Let them try...

BUT,,, the good news on this is that our main protection in all of this is the “Advise and Consent” provision of the Constitution that requires that 2/3 of the Senate approve any treaty being considered, so focus your/our efforts on keeping our Senate strong on Second Amendment rights.

Nothing seems to suprise me any more. I agree with Sifter, they are going to have one heck of a time making that work. Myself among a million other people make a living with firearms. But it will be a cold day in H... before i give my guns up.

I do believe that Congress, and the Senate is a key factor also right now. China, who buys our debt via treasure bonds, and who has played a vital economic interest for our existence in debt recovery may be a major player here for enforcement someday, if needed. That is what I'm more concerned about. They have all the resources they need for an over whelming enforcement, unlike a Mexico. We are definitely going socialism, but attempting to disarm ourselves, and attack our 2nd Amend rights is communism. Taking it piece by piece has been their objective over time, and a few states have already had chunks bitten out of them(handguns, bullets) so far. I don't believe a majority in this country would participate in disarming its citizens right now, however I do believe we could be disarmed by some other country like china if the wrong individuals running our country allowed for it. Do you trust them? We can’t even stop the war on drugs coming in, that alone defines them a reason to police you delusionaly for your security. This would be similar to a communist movement from the past. I can see this happening over time with a generation coming on board, and at a rate that is ever increasing . Just look at what we have done already. I just have a bad feeling this is really about our new global order, and our government wants to also re-define a new global playing field for us all, and for global peace reasons. It would make more sense to this puzzle of constant bombardment of events, and Federal enforcements not being enforced constitutionally today. Iran will soon have nukes, and in order to sanction a country, you must have cooperative input from countries like China, and Russia to deal with. I don’t see that happening anytime soon. So we will cooperate with them, and what would be in their best interest (communism), and to keep ourselves from what would be a common partner of interest(communism) of both. Even if that means adopting eventually to their scale. We would have to corrupt a system within that you see occurring today, in order to implement such a movement. That’s the puzzle piece that is first laid on the table before any other pieces can be further attached. That also seems to be our case. Lawlessness/Corruption is also a symptom of communism. I hope like heck I’m wrong, but I do feel a pressure coming on like you do that will soon tell. And nothing at this point doesn't surprise me anymore either.

An added note. China couldn't even launch a range missle off the pad until B. Clinton gave them that technology while in office. Now, WE positioned them strategically for our worst nightmare. How, and why did that happen?

Wen Ho Lee adn the Chinese vote. Clinton's second term depended on the Chinese vote in this country (an untapped resource) and he went to work on it. Wen Ho Lee (and others)stole the secrets for years under teh CLinton admin from Los Alamos and Sandia Labs. Of course Bill Richardson was deeply involved and was in Clinton's cabinet at the time.

It all worked out well. China got our secrets, Clinton got 100% of the Chinese vote which put him over the top, Richardson looked tough, Wen Ho Lee eventually went free, and teh American people were asleep so no one really noticed that much. A win-win situation for everyone!

I would like to point out that the original post was false. The Reuters article is not about the UN taking away America's guns. The link to the actual Reuters areticle is below, and you can readily see that it is entirely different than the original post indicated.

Then e-mail that this propoganda came from used a Reuters title line and was obviously written as propoganda and accredited to Reuters to make it more "believeable".

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE59E0Q920091015

Here is the article. if you read it you will see that it is not at all as it has been advertised by the extreme right.

Just more political propoganda designed to turn the pubic against teh current administration. It seems that they are spending a whole lot of time inventing lies to gain supoprt.

Ok, I see where your coming from. I still believe though, that the targeted freedoms, and other issues of today, that were mentioned before as far as China, and Russia are concerned, are not by accident. This is a world class issue now. We as a country are being redefined because were swimming with it now. Not by a movement in normal traditional value, but more in a way of aligning with what my better half, (being of different race, and country,) came out of. She, and I recognized this, and she is seeing where we are starting to look more of what she came out of, or from. I have been all over the world, and we are still the most sought after place to reside in, but the piper hasn't asked for his money yet like he is going to. Your statement of symptom about Kaos on the border issue is true, but I'm telling you, yet there is another symptom coming that will eventually drive this puzzle to more of a perspective, that most will be able to understand, and identify with. Probably when it's to late. There is more rings around this tree that haven't even truley been recognized by a majority yet, and a disapearence of middle class by design, is where its headed. This is not about Republicans, or Democrats. Dark skin, or white skin. It's about haves, and have nots through corruption granting the movement for. (Slavery being relabled in a different way.) Our grand kids will definitely pay for this mishap. Mexico is already there, so we need to just be the same, then we will decide its troops to enforce the issues. That is what scares me, and that's also why the Fed Gov. won't touch it with a 10ft. pole. This kind of corruption makes a hardy meal for a communist movement.

Take care,

The haves and the have nots. I like your ideas. This is just about exactly how I feel about it. Not a political issue...both are just tag teaming us for power and wealth and every excuse is being used to side track us from realizing the larger issues.

A new kind of slavery? Lord knows that is true. If I dont work for the man I perish. If I decide to quit and go on the dole I am relegated to poverty. The Reps fight hard for minimum wage jobs and keeping that minimum down where a no man can begin to get ahead adn teh business owner reaps unbelieveable profits. The Dems are all about shifting those who are near the bottom to welfare where they are totally reliant and the worker bees pick up the bill.

One more term of each and the job should be complete. The rich man will be king and the service based economy will demand that I either be wealthy or shine the toilets of those who are.

The only insurance against either one is Smith and Wesson and they are rapidly encroaching on that as well.

Keep yur powder dry and your soil moist Billygoat!

Indirectly they do. I don't want to get thrown out of this forum, so I'll let nature take its course. If we could just keep the hackles down from raisong up, I'm sure our concerns would be ok to discuss without the need of moderation. I would love to share more about the concerns that will/would eventually effect us all. It's summer in Az, and I figured with the lack of input because of the heat, would be a good time to clear the runway, that we can at least do our part for help preserving such a wonderfull hobby. I wish I had the opportunity to even gold mine again. With a medical problem staring me in the face, I don't know if it could ever be possible again without passing on. I really enjoyed the hobby when I was able to do it. I have nothing else better to do, other than to help you preserve what I held so dear, and enjoyable for myself. Maybe, the political participation is the only thing I can do for you now. I'll honor the rules, and concerns we have here though.

I really agree with you BillyGoat, I do. I also believe that many of the threads deemed "political" have a lot to do with our outdoor love of Prospecting. What gets my "Goat"...pun intended...is that it depends on who started the thread and who is commenting.

Down here on the border, you have to go armed when on your claim, because armed drug mules are about. So that makes the illegal immigration issue, just as pertinent as this thread. I posted many, many facts and statisitics about illegal immigration in AZ....but people cant seem to play fair.

On a side note, I hope your health improves.

Getting thrown out of this forum is a real threat, and I was completely out of line telling this joke about Pelosi. Please change the details to a prospector in a flood at the bottom of a gold mine. It does nothing for humor, but it eliminates the chances of banishment, ridicule, and the use of force to prevent impunity. If you look at history force is the only solution for impunity. Well, that is a lie, but it sounds really good and it justifies violence when you desperately need justification, so it will stand.

My advice to Billygoat and HPS is to get on your knees, say a dozen "hail marys" and 20 "our fathers" and never, ever take part in such a travesty again.

Anyone tht found my joke humorous is in need of repentance. There is no way of knowing just how much you enjoyed this violation of forum rules, so your punishment is between you and God (or El Dorado, whomever is taking confessions at the monent). You cant hide so dont try to wiggle out of your pennance.

I am goig to take a few hours off to sit quietly and ponder my transgressions. I will light a candle in St. Francis Assisi for all the members here and pray that my joke has not led to many astray of the one true and shining path which is guarded by a man who covers his body in sticky earth and sprinkles gold dust on himself...Or is that bull manure and Gold Bond Powder?
