New Neighbor

Recommended Posts

Yo All...After all the rattlesnake problems I've had around home during the past year, I was really glad to see a new neighbor move in and start patrolling around the house...About 4-1/2 feet long...Yay...Cheers, Unc

Hi Ron, that is a beutiful King snake. They really do love Rattlers. Had a number of them for pets when I was a kid they reluctingly would eat mice but went crazy for small Rattlers they would get bit numerous times swallowing them down but it never phased them. Bob

The King Snakes in Southern California have more colors in their banding but are getting scarce. Used to see them regularly but now it is rare. Still plenty of gopher snakes though -- and rattlers.

Ron that is a nice one, I remember a story my grandfather told me of when he was a kid in the logging camps,

He was squated down doing his buisness when a 7 foot timber rattler was going towards him. {Guess that helped his buisness)

well the guy went right past him.Next came the big king snake.Seems they have the upper hand with the buzz tails, He said the king was only 5 ft long :Huh_anim]:

Hey Unc Ron...You maybe get your new pet, Mongoose or roadrunner to attack rattlers. It helps you not to worry about more venomous snakes around the house. But King snakes are my best friends! :wink2: WHOOOO!

Hey Ron,

Nice snake! Can you please send a few down this way to New Mexico for the rattlers here. I see one from time to time while hunting spacerocks. Sure could use them!!

:icon_mrgreen: Love them king, gopher and water snakes on my claims for rattler elimination. Whenever I see one I scoop it up and relocate to my claims. Rattlers have all but disappeared from 17 years a planting snakes--tons a au 2 u2 -John
