knowitall2b
I recently read that AZ had started to make some mining/geology publications. It might have been a thread here. If not, for those interested you should be able to get there from here: http://arizonageology.blogspot.com/2009/01...now-online.html Bulletin 168 (©1961 reprint 1981, p.9) by E D Wilson on AZ placers has this: "...The high insolubility of gold in most surface water is demonstrated by the fact that flake or flour gold, which commonly is in 3,000 particles per one cent's worth, may be carried by rivers of moderate gradient for hundreds of miles." At time of copyright gold was controlled @ $35 per ounce. At that price one cent's worth is 1/3500 (.0035) ozt. At Friday's close ~$955, .0035 ozt of gold (3000 particles of flake or flour) gets just over $3.34. Interestingly, the weight one ozt has remained constant since 1961 while the dollar has devalued considerably. Given recent historical events, further devaluation in the form of inflation can be anticipated. Will we see that former penny's worth of gold (3000 particles of flake or flour) valued in excess of $11 in the next 3 years?
