Recommended Posts

This is a heads up for anyone who will be in the Downey, California area on Friday night, April 17th. Del Waterbury will be the guest speaker discussing meteorite basics and some of his favorite meteorite adventure stories. A question and answer period will follow. Meteorite aficienados will not want to miss this great opportunity. Guests are welcome and there is no charge. Refreshments are free. The location is the Womens' Club of Downey, 9813 Paramount Boulevard, Downey, CA [near the intersection of Florence and Paramount -- about a block north]. The meeting starts at 8PM. Meeting hall holds about 100 comfortably. Get there a little early for the best seats. Enjoy.

Thanks Martin, it should be good! I'm in the process of putting things together right now and wanted to meet up with you sometime before the meeting to get your feedback. Give me a call sometime and we'll set something up.

I want to add a postscript to this thread: Del's presentation was thorough, given the time allowed, and very well received. His meteorite collection made for outstanding exemplars for people to handle and observe. Some really nice gold nuggets were frosting on the cake. I think we will be hearing more from this lad in the future. Many thanks, Del, for sharing your experiences!

Thanks Martin, I enjoyed doing it very much. It was a learning experience for me as well since that was my first time giving a presentation on meteorites. PCSC's members are good people and it's always nice to talk to them.

Good Job with the presentation. I am going to look at those pesky hot rocks a little closer now. Thank you.

Anyone perhaps tape it? Put it on a DVD or something?
