phil J
Hi everyone. I was out today with a friend and we came across this piece of home made equipment. It was near an old well and also close to a small and narrow wash. There are also some old minor digs near buy with a lot of old small food cans and tobacoo containers plus assorted trash. Any ideas?? Thanks Phil

sawmill
My guess would be a home made wind mill. A couple old fellows had one set up on a claim up here. They stood a truck rear axle on end, attached the barrel rotors, to the hub. and ran a drive line from the differential to power their ball mill. They used it to power lots of stuff including a 12 volt generator to keep their batteries charged.
phil J
I would have never guessed a wind mill. I did think about a water will but that would have taken a great amount of fast water. Thanks for the quick replys. Funny what can be found in the desert. Phil
