Here's the latest weather bulletin and the 10 day forecast for Congress.... :woohoo:

Issued by The National Weather Service

Phoenix, AZ

5:39 am PDT, Thu., Oct. 2, 2008

... FIRST SIGNIFICANT STORM OF THE FALL STILL EXPECTED TO ARRIVE THIS

WEEKEND...

AFTER A NEARLY TWO WEEK STRING OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE

SOUTHWEST UNITED STATES... WITH DAILY HIGHS REACHING INTO THE TRIPLE DIGITS

OVER THE HOTTER LOWER DESERTS OF ARIZONA... A SIGNIFICANT COOL DOWN IS ON

THE HORIZON.

WINDY AND MUCH COOLER WEATHER IS EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA AND

SOUTHERN ARIZONA THIS WEEKEND AS A VIGOROUS PACIFIC LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM

MOVES INTO THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. HIGH TEMPERATURES OVER THE LOWER DESERTS

WILL FALL FROM NEAR 100 DEGREES TODAY TO THE LOW TO MID 80S BY SUNDAY... AND

INTO THE 60S AND 70S OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS SUCH AS SOUTHERN GILA

COUNTY. THE COOLER TEMPERATURES... WHICH WILL BE WELL BELOW SEASONAL

NORMALS... WILL PERSIST INTO THE EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK.

MOISTURE WILL BE LIMITED WITH THIS SYSTEM AND THEREFORE WIDESPREAD AND HEAVY

RAINFALL IS NOT EXPECTED. THERE WILL BE INCREASING CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND

THUNDERSTORMS IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN NORTH AND EAST OF PHOENIX STARTING

SATURDAY AFTERNOON. IF THE STORM SYSTEM MOVES FAR ENOUGH SOUTH AND PULLS IN

ENOUGH MOISTURE... THE LOWER DESERTS COULD SEE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS

OR THUNDERSTORMS... PARTICULARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

FINALLY... WINDS WILL BE INCREASING AS THE STORM MOVES IN... BEGINNING ON

FRIDAY IN SOUTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA AND FAR WESTERN ARIZONA... AND SPREADING

TO ALL AREAS BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL BE

POSSIBLE... WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH.
