wyldkatt7
Hey there ya'll...wyld here... How about a couple of questions for those who have owned XT17000 beepers... (1) I have the optional "Alkaline Adapter Kit"---and I want to load it up with re-chargeable Duracells', and I was wondering if they would last as long as the original battery packs??? (2) Garimpo made a post a while back about a company putting speakers inside of hearing aids that he approves of... Well, I was wondering if anyone had tried "iphones" ?? They are the only ones I have laying around, price is right... And again folks, I truly appreciate all the expertise that this forum has to offer all who seek it...thanks 2 Bill S. 2 ~wyld~
Seeker
Remember the Rechargebles only carry about 1.2v so I would stick with a good grade of Alkalines that carry 1.6, the unit needs around 14v to start out with and there are some good alkalines I used some Panasonic Oxyrides in my F 75 in the UK and hunting about 10 hrs a day for 6.5 days used one set and had plenty left in the other. Those batts are a little spendy but while shopping around I found a bargain. Otherwise I get alkalines from Costco.......Good Hunting Geo

Seeker
Tell you what, several years ago a friend of mine and I bought a couple of sets of Sony waterproof earbuds, these were the yellow ones can't find them anymore and we used them like that, if you could find something to put them in it would be a little better but we used a clip to hang them off our shirt collars the sound from them was incredible some one wanted mine more then I did so they went away but you will need the right adaptor but you might like the sound from yours ...Geo
garimpo
Morning WYLD....George is right on about the batteries unless your out in the bush a lot like I am and the batteries here sure suck.....I found a lot of gold with my XT17000...check out the Coiltek 15" coil for the XT17000...it will go almost as deep as a SD or GP and no interference from power lines.. since I used rechargeable AA's in the 17000 and in my GPS I always buy the higher capacity AA's... and I use a 12volt auto charger that will charge 4 at a time..... about the "ear buds" I ....never used them but sure do like the custom fitted ear phones....going to visit Okla. in April and will buy another set for backup..... as for the little clips to keep cords close to your body....check with a hospital supply outlet...they use them for the same reason....
