Bill Bright, where are you?

I'm trying to look up my old friend Bill Bright, who I haven't seen in quite a while.

I understand that he may be caretaking on the Havasu Goldseekers Claim above Franconia?

If that is so, could anyone give me some directions, as I'm not certain just where they are. I'm going to be heading over there on monday, not hunting, just to find Bill.

If my info is not correct, has anyone seen him?

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,

If you catch Bill, tell him that Jim Smaller said hello. I haven`t talked with him for several years, hauled him grocerys and stuff when he was so sick and camping out at Gold Basin about 5 years ago.

I was hunting out there about 5 days a week and Bill was only getting out of his trailer for an hour or so. Loved listening to all his stories about the good ole days and his adventures down under.

Jim,

I just thought of another piece of 'prospecting equipment' we should carry on those ocassions when you meet up with a person such as this....a Pocket Tape Recorder.....Our mining history is disappearing 'so fast' because the last of these "old timers" are getting up there in age and don't have the means or don't care to "write it down" but they sure like company, that is if they like you, and don't mind talking about the "way it was then".

Of course ask first to "record", if it's OK with them to do so have a blast. Some may be disinclined to participate..... just respect their wishes.

Some of these people "old timers" will post to various "forums" but their info gets 'lost' so to speak due to an influx of other topics...that is unless you search the archived messages from those "that have been there and done that" under known members that have done so.

Heck, I could put up a site-link for anyone willing to share their mining history/exprerence with everyone. Anyone interested can respond via our site. (Bill S. I'm not trying to "Trump" you here, the blonde wig is off tonight, ahh...I just took a look in the mirror.... :WOW: yikes ) :innocent0009: :laught16:..... but I'd just love to put together something like this so others can pay respect to those that lived the mining life and went through the hardships and survived in the end to leave a legacy behind for all to remember.

That said, I'm not looking for "place names/locations, make and model of your vehical, current address, your wifes maiden name, your SSN, or Press (1) for English (?)... or (2) for (??)... and (3) for (???)"..... :Huh_anim]: :confused0013: or..... making a dollar in doing so, I'm just interested in a good "real life and personal historical" story and nothing more.

 hmm...something just hit me in writing this (and it wasn't my wife) :hmmmmmm: ....more later!

Gary,

Thats a great idea. Bring your recorder with you when you come out to visit.

Bill's at the HGS camp !!!

Take the Franconia turn off, go south on the dirt road about 8 miles or so. Follow the red & white signs HGS.

I saw him on Jan. 8 he is doing good & well.

I met Bill about 15 years ago at Rich Hill and enjoyed all his stories. It's nice to hear he's doing well.

I went out to see Bill at the Havasu Gold Seekers camp and am happy to report to all his friends that he seems to be doing well. He's having a bit of a problem with his generator, thinks it's a carb problem and it's running rough. If anyone is mechanically inclined and out that way, you might stop and talk to Bill and see if you could troubleshoot his problem. I know he'd appreciate it.
