Randy Wright
Found this link on another forum. What a cool device! I'm sure it could come in handy someday. Hopefully others will make them too and the price will come down a bit: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/edw...t-tracker_N.htm http://www.findmespot.com/
Ted Scott
hmm, that's neat. I actually thought it was pretty cheap. I wonder how easy it is to accidently call 911 to a remote location. That would suck to have an unwanted heicopter fee.
grubstake
Yeh, I'm still lost in the 50's and 60's. I wish someone would find me! Grubstake
Kaimi
I guess it would work great for those people who go out without a gps unit. DUH! But what would happen if you are really hurt and unable to move? Cool unit but it sure leaves a lot of questions unanswered. :twocents: Aloha, Stan aka Kaimi
FlakMagnet
This site may answer some questions, and lead to other sites... http://www.landfallnavigation.com/acrresqfix.html If your spend a lot of time in remote locations, this unit or one like it, is probably a must. Randy Wright
I agree Flak, something like this could easily be a life saver. I was thinking about buying one of those Brietling Emergency watches someday, just because it has a beacon in it you can summon for help at any time anywhere, but this unit was WAYYYY cheaper. bigrex
Those come in handy if you get buried in a snow avalanche as well.
