Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to cooler weather too, and hope to be at the GB outing. I'm charging the batteries as I write this and might sneak out to GB or Franconia next week :innocent0009: :hmmmmmm: . I figure why not get the quick fix and find a meteorite or two. How's are the roads in GB and Franconia??? I followed the down-pour story a couple of months ago, are they fix and passable again. Thanks for the info. Jason :;):

Unless you bring the Hummer :laught16: The GB road went from 50mph to 5mph in spots on the way in. In some spots the little wash outs are every 100 yards or less. Little 1 foot drop off's that can really knock the front end out. After the dog leg one lane and some 3 foot drop off's on the edge marked with cones in the cuts. In the subdivison some of the roads are washed out. Watch out real close a night. I was out there Mon and thought they might have fixed them but (Not). Just had a cell over us in Dolan and some were in the GB area earlier. Let me know if you are heading that way.

Wayne, thanks for the info. Do you know if any of the rains hit Franconia??? I know buck mountain wash or Franconia wash was a real mess the last time it down poured there. I have 4whl dr, but don't want to chance it, if I don't have to. Looks like the lightening is all around the valley tonight.

Ruben, sounds like a plan!!! Thanks for the offer, maybe we can get Mike and Paul to tag along and show the finer points (haha) of meteorite hunting. They sure have the where-with-all to make it happen.

Hi Jason

I would believe the washes might have run as there was over 1+ inches in acouple of bursts to the east. I had several warnings on the computer. Did not see much from the maps over Franconia however the Sacramento could have ran which can really mess up a trip to the north side. Looked like GB was getting hammered from the sat maps and was looking bad from here.

Aloha and Welcome back to the good ole USA. Franconia looks like it got some rain and a little flash flooding in some spots. The lightning show last week was fantastic. I didn't take any chances this time and just checked out the area on foot. With a week of HOT weather everything should dry out fine. Just getting ready to send my GMT back to the factory to get rid of that annoying rattle inside. Hope to catch up to you out there as I know you must be chomping at the bit to get out there.

Del and I covered a good area this past year but there are a few spots still waiting for a coil to swing over them. Good Luck and can hardly wait to see your first find now that you are back.

Once again,

Aloha and Welcome back!

Nice to see your back safe and sound. Franconia was passable august 25, me and Paul hit it for about 6 hrs at night. It was just to dang

hot so we left at around 2:00am. Paul got 3 or 4, his biggest was about 30-40 grams. I got 3 little ones ,biggest was about 10 grams lol.

Cant wait to team up and get out there and find some space rocks. I am going to be gone on vacation on sep 14-24. Going to

Carlsbad caverns NM with the family. After that game on.

Mike, sounds like a plan!!! I was planning on going down tomorrow, but got home late this evening and the WX looked like it was raining in that part of of the state (specifically GB). So, maybe Thursday, but will wait to see how the temps are. Those were some nice looking rocks you had with Ruben on his site (HUGE FRANCONIA'S!!!!!!!!) :wubu: :WOW: I guess you found the sweet spot, nice going!!! Jason :;):
