SoCalNovice
This past Sunday I finally made time to process my first meteorite. It is a NWA2965 (EL3) with the dark brown matrix. It took most of the day to cut; it was a lot of work, but well worth the effort after seeing the end results. I managed to complete 4 pieces. I am very happy with how they turned out. The NWA2965 is a beautiful meteorite once it is well sanded. Ghost chondrules, limited small metal flecks, black veins, and tiny enstatite crystals that look like pixie dust in the sun really pop out after a deep sanding. The black veins reflect light like a mirror and mimic the color of whatever they are reflecting (this can be seen in the middle picture at the bottom of the slice). Hopefully my pictures do the meteorite justice. I plan to sell a limited amount of pieces in the near future as they are completed. If anyone is interested please e-mail me at scott_kee_mobile@yahoo.com and I'll let you know what I have available.
