MobileHolmes
Hi All I met a couple from IL over the winter and they were very interested in Meteorites. When they returned home they sent me this sample from Roscoe. Its not magnetic but has a very hard binding material. They thought it might be fusion material etc. Thought maybe someone has seen this before. Wayne Wow!!! Scott and Del I would like to hear you guys could get back on terms. You know I hate a guy and he doesn't even post. One of my partners Todd in the DVD. He is an S.O.B I took him hunting meteorites for the first time and he finds a 100+ gramer with a $20 Bounty Hunter. He can out walk me by 10 miles on any day. He meets me back in my areas with bags of 400g, 600g, and 1500g stones. He is young( that really tweeks me off) and hes almost good looking(not good in group pictures) I can't stand the guy. I can't wait for him to pick me up for our next trip. :icon_mrgreen:
fredmason
If you are asking for opinions as to what the rocks are, I say Conglomerate...sedamentary type rocks stuck together some process.... Fred
MobileHolmes
Thanks Fred. I told the couple that I would post their specimen to get opinions. It looks just like our conglomerants in clay & natural cement deposits out here in the desert. This sample did come from where the Roscoe's event was supposed to have happened. I tend to agree with you. Thanks, Wayne
Mr Hunter Man
Definately a conglomerate, I find may like that around here, also from IL. Happy Hunting, Joe K illinoismeteorites.com

MobileHolmes
Jim Thanks for the info. I think I maybe through with GB for awhile. Zipped the last 3 times but spent time in the washes on bedrock looking for gold. Thanks to the tin cans for some noise. Let me know when things are right for you. Wayne Wayne, Now that is one heck of a nice impact crator, you just got to love those little Irons as they have so much character. :love021: I usually find at least one piece of GB meteorite, but the last few times out there they have gotten pretty small. Crumbing the dry wash tailings will usually net a couple little nuggets when all else fails. Jim
