Just got done putting some windows in my maybe pile, from my last hunt. If I'm not sure it is a meteorite in the field, I put them in my back pocket, to window them later (learned that from Ruben).

It payed off.

Here is some pics

Nice one guy. Yep, if in doubt just hang onto them till later when you have a chance to sit down and relax and take a better look. Keep it up and hope to run into you one day out there.

Aloha for now, Stan aka Kaimi

Mike, very nice indeed!!! Looks like Ruben's instruction has taught you well. I'll be up for some of that at the end of Summer. Ruben might have already said, but are most of the dry lake finds Chondrites, as opposed to irons, or is it really just a chance encounter for either??? Jason :;):

Am I reading it right? The end of summer? Man if you will be home by the end of summer it sounds like a welcome outing is called for. Let us know if it is true. Hope all is well and that you are indeed coming home soon.

Aloha and God speed,

Stan aka Kaimi

Jason, I dont see why a iron cant be found on a dry lake bed. I think it is because they are more rare than a ordinary chondrite. Thats why you dont find them as much. Then again may be they cant last as long on a dry lake bed. Not to sure.

Brad, I have been finding the meteorites on the dry lake beds by eye alone.

When I go to franconia I use my minelab 3000, works great.

So far all the meteorites I have found on dry lake beds will not set my detector off.

I dont even bring my detector to hunt dry lake beds, just my magnet cane.

Interesting! I've seen so many rocks on dry lake beds on my exploration travels. I wonder how many meteorites I've rode right past. Some time I'd like to make it out to Franconia. Never been.

Mike, looks like I'm just down the hill from you. I'm in 29 P, Cal.
