Regmaglitch
Okay, I know it's a shameless plug for White's Detectors but, we just got our GMT back from being repaired and I just wanted everyone to know that the turn-around was fast, reasonably priced, and that I recieved great customer service. Now my son Erik won't have to hunt soley by eye, not that it kept him from finding meteorites while the unit was in the shop. We'll definately be hunting this weekend! Ben Ben, Could you by any chance let us know what the problem with the detector was? Also, were you able to get the coil fixed or was it a lost cause? Paseclipse
Glad to hear you guys finally got Erics detector back Ben, I know you two have been anticipating it's arrival for a little while now. Did you guys give it a little test run yet in the front yard? Del

Basaltgooroo
yes it works great. We bought a 4X6 inch DD coil for it and i use it in the back yard for 15 min and found all this. I like the new coil. I guess i'll use it for crumming and the jimmy sierra goldmax for cleaning out an area of big and deep material [Erik]

Paseclipse
kid+pellet gun= dead birds and lots of junk metal OMG Erik you just brang back many memories! It looks like you may have had slingshot at one time? I remember when I was your age I had a pellet gun with a scope on it and I did the same thing. Every day when my friends and I got out of school we'd play hacky sack and cap off little sparrows until my mom came home. After a while it seemed like the birds figured out not to come there anymore. I'm still laughing! Del
Regmaglitch
Hi Guys, Jim, they didn't say what the problem was with the detector. I bought it less than a month after the GMT came out on the market, so it was relatively old. And the coil I had already tossed in the round file after it died, so I sent the Sierra Gold Max with it for testing. It works like it's new again and they even put on a new armrest. Stan, better not do any metal detecting or digging...it'll aggrevate the tendonitis....hehehehe. Right. Yeah, me too! I don't seem to mind the pain as much with a handful of meteorites.... hmmmmmm. I guess I'll get over it eventually.............like when my arm falls off! One of the docs that I work with says he has it too and he just gets an annual injection of Marcaine and Cortisone. He says he's good to go for a whole year that way. I'm gonna check it out. Ben
