Jayray
Howdy Gang!!! Well I finally got settled in and a chance to post a message. Looks like I have quite a bit of meteorite hunting to do once I get back. WOW, some really nice finds the past few months. I miss swinging a detector, but have seen several in action over here, only they're finding mines, rockets, and other fun things. I've been able to hit the market and have found some very nice specimens of amethysts, lapadis, and other neat rocks. But no meteorites so far, I guess I need an interpretor . All in all things are going well and am probably glad I'm going to miss the heat. However, I was told that the high temp last year was at a whopping 164 degrees F :Huh_anim]: . So, maybe I wish I was back there, at least I could go swimming and not have to worry about getting malaria. Well gotta go and grab some chow, take care and good hunting. Jason -Mike & Paul, save some for me, and nice one Mike. You're going to have to share all of Rubens secrets about lake hunting. -Wayne, nice GB find. They are far and few between. -Harry & Maureen, all I can say is WOW!!!!!! And for the rest, sorry if I missed you. Happy Hunting, I'm doing the same. Not being a military type person I am not sure what to call your smallest unit...anyway there is most likely something I could do to honor your service. Micro Nugget
Jayray: I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting you in person, but when we have a chance a little later down the road I will pop for lunch, beer or coffee -- whatever. I'm getting meteorite bug-bitten and your's have been some of the interesting threads I have followed. Meanwhile, I (and the rest of us) will be thinking of you. By the way, I can't even begin to imagine 164 degrees Fahrenheit. An air temperature of 126 F while in a Palm Springs swimming pool back in 1983 was the most I've ever been in and if it weren't for the blonde I wouldn't have even ventured outside (or to Palm Springs for that matter). Be safe. Martin

Regmaglitch
Hi Jason, I'm glad you're finally somewhere that you can get email or snail mail. We have missed you out at Franconia lately. Maybe you can find some locals that will be glad to part with meteorites for quick cash, who knows. Trust your instincts, be aware of your surroundings, and maybe pick up on the local lingo. Best Regards, Ben
Regmaglitch
By the way Jason, if this helps...black stone in Arabic is " 'is-wid Ha-gar", or "soh-da Hagar".
