Hi Guys, Check out these chondrules from a sample of an UNWA that I got in Tucson this past year. There isn't much to any Ni/Fe in it at all, but very nice chondrules. The white'ish/green one is right at 1.9mm in diameter. Jason ;)

Howdy Gang, Well, today I met up with Dolan Dave and I got a chance to show him Stewart Valley and boy did we have fun eyeballing meteorites! We arrived between 7:30 and 8:00 this morning and let me tell you, the wind was a killer! It must have been blowing 40 MPH. It was all I could do to see the rocks in front of me, but as soon as the sun rose above the mountain, it died down pretty quick. Dave was the first one to score ( we were using magnet canes the whole day), and I followed quickly behind. It seemed as soon as he found one, I'd find one too. By mid morning, Dave was kicking my butt, b

Howdy Gang, Well I made my 2nd annual trip south to Tucson for the Gem & Mineral show, and was hosted by John B. He is the finest host (and lets not forget Sweet Pea), one could ask for . I was there for a total of four days, but spent my annual income with-in the first 24 hrs. on more meteorites and even got a nice piece of the newest martian fall, Tissant . However, that left me with a little more than two days to spare. I got a chance to see the 13th annual Birthday Bash and the meteorite auction, but really wanted to go metal detecting. I took all my stuff for the hopes of going hu

Howdy Folks, Met up wit Dolan Dave today and did a quick GB hunt. The wind a bit on the bothersome side, with gusts upwards to 40 mi. at least. Anyone who has owned a GP3500 and has had false signals due to wind can feel my pain today. Every time the wind blows the detector goes and gives a false signal. Plus, it seemed I was getting much more interference than usual, I'm thinking again due to the wind but not sure. Even the radio I had was getting interference. We walked quite a bit and we hit some old areas and try to find some new ones, with not too much luck in the new areas. Ove

Howdy Gang, Well I finally recouped from Franconia and was having some withdraws already, since school starts back up tomorrow. So, I decided to take the kids out to a close dry lake and hunt for some meteorites. We drove right out into the center of the lake bed, got geared up, and headed out. Not more than 10-15 mins. and about 100M from the truck we hit a nice piece. I was happy to say the least, and it made the trip all the worth while. The piece turned out to weigh 3.8grams. Continuing on for the next three hours we found four more pieces. However, the weights went down pretty fast; 1.3,

Howdy Gang, Richard Garcia hosted the 1st Annual Franconia Birthday Bash this year and what a great time had by most. The weather was just perfect, and the finds were for the most part plentiful. I arrived at the field around 6 am. with Jim & Wendy, to met up with several other hunters for the occasion. We got the logistics squared away, making sure everyone had a ride and began heading into the field by about 6:30 or 7:00. I had Roy (Digital jedi), Jim (Paleo Jim), and two others with me as we started. I gave a brief "show and tell" and it was off to the races. The goal was to head

Howdy Folks, During a recent trip Ely, NV., to hunt the Yelland Dry Lake, a group of meteorite hunters decided to explore the Alamo Breccia. Jim & Wendy, Stan, Richard, and myself braved the heat to explore the Alamo Breccia after seeing it on the Meteorite Men to see what they had previewed and explained on T.V. There wasn't much there, nor did we find any fossils. But, the few specimens we did find turned out to be pretty cool. Here is one of my specimens, that I polished up. It is approximately 300 grams or so, and took about 3 hours of polishing. There are some flaws that I noti
