  1. Dear Mr. JohnB,

Your $1,000 check for becoming a "Highly Respected NuggetShooter" Award was sent to a bordello in Oman. It was cashed by the owner of a bordello who seemed to be pissed about your over due bill. He did say that he had sold some of your meteorites and equipment that were confiscated before you were escorted out of the country, but that would not cover your bill.

We are reconsiderating your "Highly Respected NuggetShooter" status at this time.

  2. Hi Vicki,

I was wondering why there was nothing said about the BIG Coin Shoot at Laughlin. :icon_mrgreen:

So Jimmy beat the crap out of JohnB? :innocent0009: News like that should not be suppressed!!

Congrats to Mr.B !!!! :whoopie: :whoopie:  :woohoo:

  3. Hi Gentlemen :icon_mrgreen: (loosley speaking)

I came home on Saturday afternoon. Although I didn't spend much time meteorite hunting I still picked up 3 pieces that weighed 180 grams, which was just about the same amount I gave away to new meteorite hunters that showed up at the outing.

Sonny: It was great to finally spend time talking meteorites with you and getting to actually see your R-Chondrite. That was the highlight for my 9 days.

The Outing was another success. Many new faces and a lot of old familiar ones were on hand to enjoy the stories and BS sessions we had till 1:AM each night. And as usual there was a lot of great food Saturday night. A big thank you to everyone who attended.

There never seems to be enough time to spend time talking with everyone as I would like, but enjoy everyones company.

Thank :coffeetime: :icon_mrgreen: s again to Bill for pulling off another successful Outing.

  4. Gentlemen,

I don't believe the Old Woman Mountains Wilderness Area is off limits. It is a Wilderness area designated in Oct. 1994, under the California Desert Protection act and is off limits to vehicles travel within its boundaries. Like most all Wilderness areas it is open to limited use. Check with the local BLM office for allowed uses and access routes. :icon_mrgreen:

  5. Hello Rocco,

As usual, it is really hard to tell from the pictures whether any of your suspect stones are possibly meteoric. Definitive answers probably should be made with a closer look.

My first impression is that none of the stones are meteorites, but looking at a picture and guessing, is not the proper way to get an absolute answer. Weathering of a specimen can fool anyone. Fusion crust can be totally weathered away, or in the case of a fragment, non-existant.

That being said, have them looked at by someone in your area to be definitive. Some stones are easy to look at and identify as a meteorite with about 95% certainty. The most important 5% is when they are actually classified by a lab.

    Good Hunting :twocents:

  6. Del,

I have no clue how all these ratings are done but everything I read says you are wrong on your FNC opinion ............but I'm a Republican and I still love ya man!! :laught16: :icon_mrgreen:

That being said.............. the Arizona Game and Fish doesn't allow us to hunt Bigfoot...........besides they taste just like chicken anyway. :icon_mrgreen: :laught16::WOW:

Fox News Channel Leads in 2007 Cable News Ratings

MSNBC, CNBC, CNN Headline News Experience Growth

By Marisa Guthrie -- Broadcasting & Cable, 1/4/2008 5:11:00 PM

Fox News Channel once again ended the year as cable’s top news network, followed by CNN, with few radical ratings dips or surges for either network. But among the channels with smaller audience totals -- MSNBC, CNBC and CNN Headline News -- 2007 was a year of growth.

For the year in primetime, Fox News was the No. 6-ranked cable channel behind USA Network, TNT, ESPN, TBS and Lifetime Television. That’s two notches higher than its ranking last year. CNN, its closest news competitor, was No. 26, down one.

Fox News was down 1% in total viewers in total day and 3% in the 25-54 demographic, but it still boasted most of the top-rated shows on cable news led by The O’Reilly Factor, which has been No. 1 in its 8 p.m. time slot for 85 consecutive months.

CNN posted a slight uptick in total day in viewers and the demo (1% and 3%, respectively) and posted a 7% gain in primetime (8 p.m.-11 p.m.) in the 25-54 demo.

MSNBC continued to grow in total day in viewers (17%) and the demo (15%) and was up in primetime 28% in total viewers and 22% in the demo. But its morning ratings eroded after Don Imus was deposed in April. Year-to-year in the morning, MSNBC was down 9% in total viewers and 21% in the demo with Joe Scarborough’s Morning Joe.

In total day, CNBC was up 27% in viewers and 25% in the demo and in primetime gained 34% in total viewers and 17% in the demo.

The fledgling Fox Business Network is averaging a mere 6,000 viewers in total day and 15,000 in primetime for its first three months on the air. But the channel is not widely available.

CNN Headline News was up in total day 12% in viewers and 11% in the demo and 14% in primetime viewers and 16% in the demo.

    Happy Hunting!

  7. Hi Allen, :icon_mrgreen:

As you know, I have done a number of different Outing Videos. If I had unlimited funds to buy high dollar equipment then mass storage $$ would be good.

I use a small Panasonic 3ccd camera with DV tape and it has worked excellent for me and I have shot and edited 100's of hours of DV. DV tape is the only way I would ever consider going, unless you are going to do HD.

All things are relative to the amount of money you want to spend on video/editing/sound equipment. Skys the limit, as I am sure you have discovered. Quality=$$$$$ , but all things are relative.

    Take Care

  8. I lost two of my old hunting and fishing buddies of 30+ years this week to cancer. :sadwalk: Both passed away within 24 hours of each other. We went on Friday to the first funeral, and today, we are going to say goodby again.

While it has been a sad week, I thank God for the time we were friends and all the things we did together...........

  9. Gentlemen, :icon_mrgreen:

I personally know Sen. Ron Gould as he is a resident of Lake Havasu. Before I sold my sign company and retired, we made all of Ron's signs for his Air Conditioning Company and he did work for me on my commercial building and home. I also supported Ron for the Senate ( Republican) and I am glad to see he is leading the fight on this issue.

I will email his office this morning and see what we can do to oppose this bill individually or as a group.

I posted about this bill when it first came out for consideration and I emailed the Fish & Game and others in opposition. Of course there was no reply.

    Thanks
