  1. Im back. Once again found in NW Colorado high desert. Seems to have maybe a shell look to it. 4 1/2inches long 4 inches wide and about 3 inches think. Any and all comments welcome ...
  2. Thx 4meter. As you said cool find none the less. Yes NW Colorado. I'd have to say about 8 miles from Utah border as Dinosaur is only 3 miles from border. I put it back in my box for now so its safe. ✌
  3. Thx John. I am happy with it. I will definitely research your suggestions ✌
  4. Thats what i thought. I brought it home ran it under water. It was muddy. The dried it and put it away ✌
  5. Wow pondmn thx. I am so stoked about this. Ive had it since February this year. Just knew it had to be some thing so i put it with my favorites. Searched Google but had no luck so i forgot about it till this morning. Can you tell me if there is a safe way to remove the off white stuff ? Or should i leave it ? ✌
  6. Wow ... i know it hard to ID from pics but it sure does look like a mammoth tooth. Thx Chris ✌

  9. I have no way at this time to cut it. On 1 side it has a couple cracks. Thought maybe it would have split by now. I'll have to research some more to see exactly what to remove from it. Will be a nice winter project for me and a friend. Thx alot for all the help and advice. Im just a newbie trying to learn all i can
  10. 4meter , what do you mean by " should clean up nicely " ? Can you please explain what kind of cleaning ? Thank you in advance
  11. Yes Weaver outside of the monument. I'm not allowed there on my 4 Wheeler , but it is just across the highway . I'm not positive since I'm new at this but I believe I read that it's late Jurassic around here. Didn't leave a streak. Don't know about the hardness test but it can't be scratched with a knife. No reaction to vinager. I will take a couple more pics to post .

  13. Hi all. This was found in NW Colorado . High desert. Stumbled across it on 1 of my many outings this summer. As you can see by the lighter it not big. Was wondering if anyone could tell me any thing about it. The rock itself is a grayish brown. More gray. The crystals on it ( if that's what they are ) are different shades of brown. I think it'sway cool the way it wraps around the rock. Looking forward to responses
