Question of searching longitude /latitude coordinates
Relichunter2016 replied to Relichunter2016's topic in GOLD PROSPECTING
Clay thank you for this information, it makes sense to me now. I knew it would be much harder then inputting the coordinates to mines and hitting search for that X marks the spot dream. -
Question of searching longitude /latitude coordinates

I am beginning to think the same, seems like these coordinates on this site are way off by at least a quarter mile if not more. -
Question of searching longitude /latitude coordinates
Relichunter2016 replied to Relichunter2016's topic in GOLD PROSPECTING
After reading the Mindata info on locations I understand why they are not accurate Map Location Accuracy: The coordinates listed for many locations are general regional coordinates (not accurate) and should not be relied upon for locating localities (eg with a GPS).Map Scales: The maps scales shown below may be the scales of the original map data (eg 1:50000 Landranger Maps) and NOT the scale as they may appear on your screen. Not all map scales listed below may be available for every location, in some cases links may default to another scale - there may be only one scale available for s -
At times I go on this site https://mrdata.usgs.gov/mrds/map-us.html and look up mines within my area. When you click on any given mine claim the longitude and latitude coordinates are given. Question I have is why are the coordinates totally off by 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the site itself when I Search for them on Google Earth?

Hi Mike, I am not really sure whats wrong with them, maybe an easy fix, maybe not. But with the 2 I am sure anyone with some electronic sense would make one work. The one I bought from a memberis charged full and green light is on. But when I switch it on on my 4500 ML it makes the headphones squeal. Not sure where you live , but shipping maybe a bit more do to the weight of the batteries. I would do 75.00. -
I Have these 2 batteries for the gpx series detectors. One was my old one and it stopped working, not sure why. I thought maybe the headphone jack was faulty so i took out the 4 screws and was going to replace the jack. I never did it but I did cut the 3 colored wires connected to the jack. #2 I bought form a forum member for 250 bucks, but when I received it I tried it out and went faulty after on days use. #2 Charges fully, the charging lights go to full green, but when I hook it to my gpx and switch it on all it does is squeal...so maybe an amp is out, not sure. I am no electronic whizz b

The Nugget Shooter's Field Guide Christmas Sale
Relichunter2016 replied to Goldseeker4000's topic in CLASSIFIED ADS
Nice review Terry, what a great price for such an informative book on prospecting with a metal detector. Its a small price to pay to shorten the learning curve in this hobby of searching out those elusive nuggets. For me it took years and years out in the field observing different scenarios and environments, beginner's today have the benefit of buying guides like this to help them out in the field. Anyone willing to spend good hard earned cash on a detector should buy this guide and have it in their collection as a reference. I have been detecting for 40 years and 30 for nuggets, I will orde -
It would have been nice to at least understand what they were saying Mr. Poster.

Russia to open WORLD’S LARGEST gold mine
Relichunter2016 replied to Dakota Slim's topic in PROSPECTORS LOUNGE
After the 1970s, central banks bought into the idea that the U.S. dollar was the savior of the global financial system. When the 2008 financial crisis hit it became clearer that the dollar isn't as secure as was led. With huge debt, and trillions more printed every year, more nations are stocking up their gold reserves because of probable higher future prices in gold. More nations are going away with the Petro-Dollar and using their own currency in exchange for resources like oil and natural gas. Heck India has even been buying Iranian oil with gold and rupees, Russia-China using national cur -
