  1. Oh, I thought you were serious about your assertions yesterday in your Biden/Harris mining topic. When you said this: "In fact, Obama was a disaster for mining as well as manufacturing." I am always willing to learn, so I thought you'd be able to provide some proof to your claim.
  2. How much are the CEOs making? I read something the other day that said when corporations first became a 'thing', CEOs were paid about 50 times what the average worker was paid. Everyone thought that was 'fair' at the time. Now, CEO's make on average between 100-500 times what their average worker makes. If employees of these corporations were paid more then that would be great. It would also mean a higher yearly income tax revenue which will make it easier for us to continue to prop up capitalism. I understand why you are passionate and I'm not against you.
  3. Perhaps you should spend more time looking into the backgrounds of the people you intend to vote for? I noticed you put Arizona in the title but I don't see any Arizona representation in that list of Senators. Are you planning on voting D this year? Do you live in any of these states?
  4. Was that after he helped save the Auto Industry? https://www.politifact.com/article/2012/sep/06/did-obama-save-us-automobile-industry/ It's still good advice.
  5. If these companies can't do good business with an almost 40% profit then I don't know what to tell you. Do you get any of that profit in your check, or is payroll wrapped up in the costs? Who gets the profits and are they paying taxes? I'm sure there could be a provision for a 'Small miners waiver' since many small miners are not corporations. The point of the bill is to go after the big money so you don't have to carry so much burden with your personal income taxes.
  6. Here's a list of companies that didn't pay Federal Income Taxes in 2018. http://nbr.com/2019/12/16/these-91-companies-paid-no-federal-taxes-in-2018/ Freeport McMoRan is on that list. I don't think individual middle class taxpayers should bare the sole burden of propping up the economy, so large companies can then exploit the opportunity. But that's just my opinion.
  7. LMAO. Why did you feel the need to make another topic with the same content but with a different title? Still waiting....
  8. Here's the first few paragraphs of your link. The bill requires companies to pay royalties for the first time for the ability to extract mineral resources like gold, silver, and copper from public lands, helps ensure that taxpayers aren’t on the hook for cleaning up abandoned mines, and seeks to prevent another toxic spill like the Gold King Mine disaster of 2015. “Mining companies, both foreign and domestic, are governed today by a law that has changed little since the actual California Gold Rush that gave rise to the Act in the first place,” wrote the senators. “Today, this
  9. Without doing any research and just based solely on what you are trying to exclaim.... What's wrong with that??? It's not private land, it's public land. We 'own' it. Shouldn't we be compensated in some way when a corporation extracts our minerals for sale on the open market? Is there a more sinister plan here?
  10. For those who want to know what Trump has done and not done for us. This link is a great resource. https://www.brookings.edu/interactives/tracking-deregulation-in-the-trump-era/ After scrolling down this list, it seemed to me that allowing more pollution and destruction of the environment have been some of this administration's greatest accomplishments.
  11. Yes, I noticed you had to be reprimanded in that situation. Since I've made the only response to your assertions, it's tough to not make it seem like I was only addressing you, Slim. While I did use your name, it was because I was hoping you'd be able to enlighten me. Still waiting.... My request stands for anyone who can provide information backing up what Slim has claimed. I also posted the facts as I understand them. To which, you have no response, other than trying to change the subject. As far as 'The New Green Deal'.... I'm not sure of the connection to Biden/Ha
  12. While I couldn't find the 'quote' Bob had referred to.... I was able to find some other quotes that tell the story fairly well. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/08/reversal-trump-kills-huge-alaskan-gold-mine-here-s-why The administration's about-face came after several key high-profile Republicans made their opposition to the project known both publicly and in private with the president in recent weeks: the president's son Donald Trump Jr. and former vice presidential aide Nick Ayers both tweeted their opposition to the project. And Fox News's Tucker Carlson—known to hav
  13. While I wait for clarification of your facts, I did some more Googling. I remember clearly how the economy was doing before Obama got elected. That was during the time I closed my business and sold what few assets I had, to pay off the debts. So I know manufacturing was in decline at that time. But since the economy steadily recovered over the next 8 years, I had to look into the discrepancy you stated. Guess what? I found it !! https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/USA/united-states/manufacturing-output I can't help but wonder how that graph will look next year when we can
  14. Even old guys are known to make mistakes from time to time. Matthew 7:1-3 Feel better soon Old Tom.
  15. If I had to bet, I'd say that the previous administration didn't support the mine project because the salmon fishery will continue to be valuable long after all those minerals are mined out. But that's just my opinion. I was Googling for 'answers' about how "Obama was a disaster for mining", but everything I found was about coal. Supposedly, Obama killed coal. Actually, the market killed coal. Read this article for the details. Make sure you read to the end where the facts are laid out. https://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2017/4/28/15465348/obama-trump-regulations-
  16. Sorry to hear you had of rough go of it. Hopefully your condition will continue to improve.
  17. You're raising a fine young man there. Nice work. Congratulations to you and your son.
  18. I believe this also works if you recite, "Woman, man, camera, person, TV" out loud a few times.
  19. Well at least someone's been productive in 'quarantine'. Congrats Mitchel !!
  20. Hopefully he is found and in good condition.
  21. I believe that's the definition of inflation. Wouldn't it be great if you were making $2000 an hour?
  22. It's interesting when you think about how some are looking to 'cash out', while it seems a much larger group is 'buying in'. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?
  23. I believe the price of gold is related to demand. Of course there's some other factors too. As I understand it, the Chinese people with their 'new found wealth', are being encouraged by their government to buy gold. I won't get into what this means, but I imagine someone will.
  24. Tiny gold nuggets should read the same as tiny lead birdshot. 1 or 2 If the nugget is larger, it could be 13. Which is the same as a nickel. Anything between those numbers should be dug up. But if you're looking for gold, you should really dig everything anyways. Trash and/or mineralized rocks can mask or change a signal. If you want to be successful, you have to verify your targets. Sometimes the gold is under the trash. If you walk away on a trash signal, you'll miss the gold. If you're getting a lot of -8 or -9, and lots of 98 and 99.... Then the machine is st
  25. Based on my roughly 10 hours of time with the 800, I would say you've got the gain too high and are not ground balanced properly. In mineralized ground, you'll need to slow your swing to allow the 'electronic gizmos' to keep up. At least that was my experience. Gold 1 or 2 shouldn't matter and you should hunt in all-metal as much as possible.
