  1. The 6000 looks like an awesome machine! It's out of my budget but I have a feeling we will see a lot of nuggets come out of old patches with it. As soon as it cools down I want to knock the dust off my 5000 and start swinging again. It's been darn near 2 years since I've been out. Been climbing the corporate ladder and neglecting all the fun stuff.
  2. Heck of a nice haul Frank! Way to go!
  3. Dang Bill! Looks like yall have been killing it!
  4. This is my first time in quite a while on this forum and things sure have changed. You're definately not the only one! We used to plan outtings and show off nuggets haha.
  5. Thanks for the memories Tom! We look forward to these outings all year. I sure hope things get back to normal by spring.
  6. Killer nugget Luke! Way to go!
  7. I guess it's been a while since I've been on here, I dont recognize half the people haha. We will be at the outting!
  8. I'll be there with most the brood. I'm planning to get out early this time. Maybe Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
  9. No clue but it looks cool!
  10. You can buy an air tank for pretty cheap and fill up at home and take it with you . Or just run an at a happy medium, 30 to 35 psi and take it easy on the trails. You'll have a smoother ride home too.
  11. I think you might be underestimating your f250, unless pinstriping is your concern most backroads around the yavapai schist can be done in any 2 wheel drive pickup. Might have to hoof it up the washes but that's part of the fun. I didn't have 4 wheel drive until recently and went all over that area. Now I have a yukon xl, it's 4x4 but I never use it. Just don't go when it's raining. Those roads are bumpy but generally not slick when dry.
  12. I would love to have hit that wash back in the day.
  13. I think you've answered your own question on this one. Here we are a couple years since your original post and you're killing it with more gold than skunks!
  14. Also, sticking to smaller coils will help especially if fatigue is a concern with a longer shaft.
  15. If switching boots isn't an option you can try swinging the detector more to your dominant side rather than straight out in front of you, at least then the distance from your shoes is more constantrather than getting a signal every time you you take a step. I've done this when I forgot to pack my composite toe boots and it helped some, also helps if you carry a pistol or your pick on your belt to keep the coil more to one side.
  16. Azdigger, the gpaaclaims in the area are well marked. They have signs all along the way, you wouldn't have any trouble finding them even without the map book. Most are accessible by passenger car as well.
  17. Keep us posted! I'm definitely curious what it turns out to be.
  18. Sometimes you'll get false target sounds if your detecting across a contact zone also, which happens to be where washes often form. Make sure the target sound is reliable when checked from all angles, also as someone else said, a target in the side can often be very deceiving
  19. Best of luck, I hope it's a huge gold vein. That being said, it sounds like hot ground to me. The kind that just keeps on sounding off like a target no matter how much of it that chip away. Keep in mind most vlfs don't pickup more than a few inches even on a big target, I'd be surprised if it got a target deep enough to require a day of digging.
  20. Nice nugget Tom! The season is upon us, inn hoping tho get out soon myself.
  21. It was clearly found on private property, I can tell by the color of dirt in the wash.
  22. Shay, I thought the same thing at first about her not sweeping on the ground then later realized that they're all pretty much ignoring small gold. She does pretty well, they're after nuggets that make our stuff look like fly poop. They don't seem at all interested in digging targets that don't scream. Most the time they don't even use scoops they just see the nuggets in the pile of dirt next to the hole haha. I wish I had that problem.
