  1. Those little boogers sure do make enough noise when it gets hot.  The kids around here tie cotton thread on them under their wings and fly them around on a long line.  After they are done playing and they are exhausted they let them go.  The trees are full of their exoskeletons hanging onto the bark.

That piece of gold looks a lot like one that my son found a few years ago. We call it the pizza nugget because it is flat and round and on top it looks like a pizza.  A really good find for you in this day and age, congrats.

  2. The first thing that I would do is to employ some kind of magnet to the area that you intend to search.  If you could borrow a shop sweeper magnet on wheels that would be good.  Rake the area with a firm garden rake to loosen the metal that is just below the surface.   If you lost the ring recently then it shouldn't be covered with dirt so turn your gain way down an go so very slow on the first try.  The ring should really jump out being so close to the detector and ignore the faint signals.  If you think that it is covered with dirt then dig everything.  :black_knight_standing:

  3. Whenever that happens the savages come out at night.  The cowards will finally wear face masks and loot an burn what they can or can't get.  When I was a kid the law was allowed to shoot looters and arsonists.  I wonder just what happened to allow all this to happen.  People are still people...……..

  4. Hey Edge, take it easy on that old guy.  I'm almost to his age but he has five years on me.  Watch him and don't let him overdo it.  Exuberance sometimes gets the best of us an we go beyond our bounds.  I know of what I speak and am not afraid to admit it.  Take some cans of oxygen with you can get it at the sports stores, I always carry it and some aspirin also.  Good luck and God bless you  for what you are trying to do.  :yesss:

  6. I said o-yeah when I played that Little Richard piece.  I grew up on those guys back on the east coast.  Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley etc. etc. We used to go to a couple of Black clubs and be the only whites in the place. Never had any trouble as we were there strictly to enjoy the music.  Made some great friends there and most of the time got crocked to boot.  Rhythm an Blues started it and graduated to Rock and Roll.  I never did go for the hard stuff though, stuff that they were trying to push  to break some barriers like some of the stuff we are into today.  Give Me That Old Rock and Roll.  :party-smiley-027[1]:

  7. I have raised horses for a number of years and I never heard of giving bad hay to a horse.  You just can't do it, you'll wind up vetting them and spending all night walking and babysitting them if they don't colic and die.  Ask 'TomH' about walking horses all night, he's very familiar with that.  As far as the Blister beetle goes I never heard of them until I went beeping and asked just what the heck they were.  By then I gave up horses as the kids were all gone and they were too tough for me at my age.  I wonder just how it would feel if you got stung or bitten by one.  Is it like a bee or scorpion sting?  I hear about the blister part and that would be enough to be wary of them.  Has any one of us gotten traumatized by one of them boogers?

Good on you Tom... A very interesting area over there..I took Mrs Boulder dash for a hike back in there last month.. I wasn't detecting but flower gazing.. I couldn't help but notice some new areas exposed from the floods..Bet there's lots more over there.

Yeah Wade, that area is quite steep and it does change a lot every time it floods.  I wish that I could get up in there again but I guess that's out with the condition of my legs and back.  But what's this 'Flower Gazing' thing?  Are you turning into a 'Ferdinand the Bull'? He got into trouble stopping to smell the flowers, always bring your beeper with you.  :black_knight_standing:

Thanks for sharing and that is a great idea of a way to display you collecting. I'm curious about the orientation of the horse shoes? I was always told that that if you don't hang then with the ends up, your luck will fall out.

What  kind of luck falls out, good or bad?  :D

  10. Well either way here was a nice Salute to the front line workers. Enjoy! (Did you see it!!??)

No we didn't see I here in Glendale.  We heard the noise from the jets but they were a little off track for us.  Usually they rendezvous over Lake Pleasant and come right over our house on their way to Phoenix.  This time they took a little different track.  I enjoyed your vid though.  Tks.......
