*sighs* Looks like half of the reseach I will be doing is What, Where, and How I can pick up anything without getting fined or worse here in AZ....if I'm lucky. Next stop to local FS and BLM offices to try and get something in writting. We are a country of immigrants, refugees, pioneers, and explorers. Is it so wrong for us to want to see what is over that next hill? Or to utilize the natural resources on publicly held land? How is prospecting any different than hunting, fishing, grazing, or hiking?

And another newbie here in Mesa. I hope you don't mind if I steal this advice as well. That trash to find ratio sounds about right. Taking my coinshooter out along the lakes, rivers and camped area on public land in N. Wisconsin has left those areas cleaner.
