  5. Hi Guys, I don't know if you have seen the 1972 fly by video. I found it on you-tube about a year ago. They say it was about 100 feet in diameter, but there is considerable conjecture. Anyway, you could see it well in day light. If it had hit, they say it would have been about like Meteor Crater in Arizona with a 10 to 30 mile radius kill zone; agian a matter of conjecture. Good Hunting!! Clifton
  6. Hey Dave, Super Nice Geat Big Gold Basins!!! WOW!! The guy in the green vehicle following you to Gold Basin next time is me; no worries. I was thinking about braving the heat and getting out there, we've all done it; maybe not too smart though. It's pretty tough on the liver. I guess as long as there is a little breeze, it's well, OK. It's when the wind stops at 2 pm and it's 107 ++. I've caught myself with a heat stroke looking red face a couple of times now, I felt OK, good and hot, but OK. Years ago, we use too hike to the Boy Scout Hot Springs in Black Canyon a few miles below the H
  7. Thanks Steve and Frank, Yeah Dave I went out on Friday so the wind were light about 10 mph from the South. I have been using the NOAA site forcast at this link http://graphical.wea...rs/vef.php#tabs . I saw that the weekend was really going to blow. Use the mouse to hover over the the wind speed and direction or other at the various times. The 12 hrs advancing is at the top of the column. The forcast is usually pretty good at 3-4 days out. 8. Hey Guys, Finally found a Stewart Valley Dry Lake meteorite fragment on Friday March 30. It was my third trip to the lake since Jason told me about it a couple of years ago. Thanks Jason!!! See Jason's post below on Stewart Valley Dry Lake finds with Dolan Dave Feb 26, 2012. My first time out to the "dry" lake a couple of years ago I got my car stuck in the mud with my daughter; had to call for help (oh well). Hunted that time, and hunted one other time and found nothing, but some tiny maybeites. This time I had 2 hour hours hunting in using the magnet stick, and gave up, and start out wi

  20. Nice finds man!!, The sanded one looks just like a store bought GB (20 g) I purchased before I went hunting there. I wanted an example and a throw down, but as an example GB it was poor as there was not much of the orginal surface to be of much use in identifing a real GB out in field. But It is pretty. Nice job!! Good Hunting!! Clifton
