A blonde called her boyfriend and said " I have a killer jigsaw puzzle and I can't figure it out or how to get it started" her boyfriend asked "what's it supposed to be when it's finished?" the blonde says "according to the box it's supposed to be a tiger." Her boyfriend comes over to help her with the puzzle. She let's him in and shows him the table where she has all the pieces spread out. He studies the pieces for a minute and looks at the box. He turns to her and says "first, no matter what we do these pieces will never resemble a tiger." he then takes her hand and says "Second, I want you to relax and drink some coffee then..." he sighs "let's put all the frosted flakes back in the box"

I mad it out yesterday evening for a couple hours with my boys. I had blew up gold in this area a couple weeks ago and wanted to check it out with a detector. The area has it's fair share of old trash and workings but sometimes you get lucky. Less than ten feet and the third target was gold. I guess you can see why I called it the chicken head. AJ

It probably is ~ .01 " same as the roll I have. I think my roll is 20" wide...but probably the same stuff. Now I know where to get more! The key to using it will be adequate support to prevent it "oil canning" between the ribs. From what I've read the plywood will do the same thing without some extra ribs in there. A few other builders have used pink or blue styrofoam for extra nose ribs with success.

I'm thinking the Aluminum would be a pile easier to work with then Ply Wood. Ply Would likes to chigger up on the cuts.

Hi Fred, yep that's Granite far as i can tell. There are lots of heavies here and they play havoc with the Gold bug II. Takes a lot of patience to work this spot.

Interesting, aside from some light iron staining I'm not sure what Saul is seeing as well? I know some say there are indicator plants that grow in iron rich soils but I'm not seeing those in the photos?

These "indicators" you speak of, I am unaware of.... This may be the dullest ,boring ground ever. All I see is white and greyish rocks with dead and alive cactus. I do beep anthills and pack rat nests on occasion, and have in this area.

There are good indicators in the flora in the second photo, and in the ground. Also, I'd like to ask Adam if he poked around any anthills and packrat nests in the immediate vicinity.

Well, Bob; it is hard enough to live on Earth-time...we would need much longer lives and broader view to live on Universe-time... I am 68 and very well remember the scientists screaming there could not be other planets or life elsewhere...all that has changed. The fiction of today is tomorrows facts...I hope this post fits in, I am not going to read 34 pages to find out... fred

The Wife's Hearing Mike feared his wife Sarah wasn't hearing as well as she used to, and he thought she might need a hearing-aid. Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family doctor to discuss the problem. The doctor told him that there is a simple informal test that he could perform to give the doctor a better idea about her hearing loss. "Here's what you do" said the doctor. "Stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal. conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet , then 20 feet and so on until you get a response". That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner and he was in the den. He says to himself, " I'm about 40 feet away, let's see what happens." Then in a normal tone he asks. "Honey, what's for dinner?" No response. So he moves closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, "Sarah, what's for dinner?" Still no response. Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, "Honey what's for dinner?" Again he gets no response. So he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. "Honey what's for dinner?" Again there is no response So he walks right up behind her. "Sarah what's for dinner?" I just love this! "HOLY COW MIKE, for the fifth time. CHICKEN!"

I guess I'm a little late posting to this thread to talk about "Earth wobble." A number of years ago I ran into a novel by Allan W. Eckert titled "The HAB Theory". I thoroughly enjoyed it and remember that I was quite impressed with the accuracy of the science. I thought you might enjoy some "different" reading if you can locate a copy. Roger P.
