Gold Prospecting Forum Guidelines

There are just a few rules here and yup I do enforce them and keep an eye on things as best I can. Here are a few guidelines I'd like you to follow if you will be participating here. This forum is not moderated as heavily as the other sections so please do not enter or open a topic if you think you will be offended. If you are at least respond like an adult or we will remove your post as soon as brought to our attention.

Vulgar and abusive language is not welcome here! Heck a cuss word to get a point across is not so bad, but I think you know what I mean.

I will not host public arguments and pissing matches between individuals here so please just don't do it. When it happens the post most times will simply vanish into cyber space.

Political or Religious posts belong in "Off Topic" but surly you can find other forums that host those discussions if it is your thing, I don't think anyone cares if you are Conservative or Liberal when we are out hunting gold nuggets.

You may not use this forum to advertise any other dealer, store, or product without written permission by owner at any time. Used items are allowed in the classified section.

This forum is not responsible for anything said by it's members at any time. This is a public forum and will remain so and although I can and will occasionally zap "bad content" I don't do it often and so far have never permanently banned a person. Also opinions expressed here do not always represent the opinion of the forum's owner!

Guests are welcome to browse the forum and use the information provided by registered members, but you can not post yourself until you are a registered member.

That is pretty much it my fellow Nugget Shooters so enjoy the forum, keep it clean and play nice.

    • Hello all, Up for sale is my MInelab GPZ 7000 purchased from Rob's Detectors in February 2019. This detector is in excellent shape. Warranty is transferable. Unit has stayed in Doc's Goldscreamer Control Box/Screen Cover whenever I have taken it out. Also included is an extra battery, Miner John's White Heavy Duty Coil Cover, Doc's Scoop Pouch, $200 hard case, Minelab soft carrying case, Minelab Koss headphones, external speaker with cover. The detector is currently located on Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.  Asking $6,000 Feel free to text or call if you have any questions. Phone: 530-867-5910 Thanks for looking! -Kyle
    • And I heated it with a butane torch for the people that are going to ask 🙄
    • Just put flame to it is not roofing tar didn’t even doing anything to rock or soften up. I am glad to do any other test if anyone guides me to what to do test wise and answer questions I am just as curious as you guys what this is!!!
    • Last week I was up in the mountains in southern Idaho, looking for some buried stagecoach robbery loot. I found an old prospect hole that had been exposed by the Forest Service removing "nuisance" pine trees. I decided to hike up the hill and check it out. It probably dates to the late 19th century. Scanning the tailing pile I immediately got a strong hit, and dug up really heavy, rough nugget. Tested it on the pick magnet, and it stuck like crazy. Found 9 more before giving it up. When I got home several days later, and cleaned one, I decided to grind a "window" on one end, and found a nice silver-colored metal. The question I have is "how rare is this?". All the years I've been prospecting and I've never seen one. Jim
    • Did you try to expose it to a flame just to satisfy those who thinks it could be roofing tar, we need your help to answer some of our questions as well, since we can't hold it in our hands, see it in person or do any simple tests on it?
