Gold Prospecting Forum Guidelines

There are just a few rules here and yup I do enforce them and keep an eye on things as best I can. Here are a few guidelines I'd like you to follow if you will be participating here. This forum is not moderated as heavily as the other sections so please do not enter or open a topic if you think you will be offended. If you are at least respond like an adult or we will remove your post as soon as brought to our attention.

Vulgar and abusive language is not welcome here! Heck a cuss word to get a point across is not so bad, but I think you know what I mean.

I will not host public arguments and pissing matches between individuals here so please just don't do it. When it happens the post most times will simply vanish into cyber space.

Political or Religious posts belong in "Off Topic" but surly you can find other forums that host those discussions if it is your thing, I don't think anyone cares if you are Conservative or Liberal when we are out hunting gold nuggets.

You may not use this forum to advertise any other dealer, store, or product without written permission by owner at any time. Used items are allowed in the classified section.

This forum is not responsible for anything said by it's members at any time. This is a public forum and will remain so and although I can and will occasionally zap "bad content" I don't do it often and so far have never permanently banned a person. Also opinions expressed here do not always represent the opinion of the forum's owner!

Guests are welcome to browse the forum and use the information provided by registered members, but you can not post yourself until you are a registered member.

That is pretty much it my fellow Nugget Shooters so enjoy the forum, keep it clean and play nice.

    • I ASSUMED (hate that word) that this would be directed to Bill since the Video I referenced HE DID. That being said I will Welcome first hand advice from ANYONE with the expertise in using Google Earth and the Layover Maps and such apps out there today.  How to define areas and links to the apps and software You All Use. I'm a Newbie and 75 so I try to plan my trips to make it as easily physically on me as possible.   Thank you for the reply, hopes this clears things a bit and any help will be great.
    • The air compression causes the vacuum
    • It can be hard to follow. Compression and vacuum forces suck and push every atom into the main mass as a normal force relative to the direction of travel. That is why oriented meteorites have a trailing edge that looks different, the vacuum in front of the compression at an angle that matches the direction of travel. It is just my common sense. Wind is invisible, hard to comprehend what we cant see. But further, the compression can be turbulent depending on the material consistency. This turbulence is what forms the glypts in a chaotic manner relative to the molecular stiffness. I am just good at science, I need 2 classes to get a degree in general education and I am looking into becoming a doctor specializing in meteorites. That way one day I will be the one who tells what is what. I hope I can somehow get into the international association as well. It was a freak accident for me to stumble upon "slag" in the forest that led to my research and I can tell you that not every scientist knows every aspect. I have the added motivation of being a normal rock collector as well.
    • Nice job. I recently started doing exactly what you are describing, raking likely looking areas with the blade of my pick. I haven't found anything as nice as your nuggets, but I have pulled a couple tiny pieces that way, and will keep doing it! Regards, Kyle
    • But the pressure is greater higher up in the atmosphere?  Dude, you continue to make little to no sense.
