Rock and Mineral Forum Guidelines

There are just a few rules here and yup I do enforce them and keep an eye on things as best I can. Here are a few guidelines I'd like you to follow if you will be participating here. This forum is not moderated as heavily as the other sections so please do not enter or open a topic if you think you will be offended. If you are at least respond like an adult or we will remove your post as soon as brought to our attention.

Vulgar and abusive language is not welcome here! Heck a cuss word to get a point across is not so bad, but I think you know what I mean.

I will not host public arguments and pissing matches between individuals here so please just don't do it. When it happens the post most times will simply vanish into cyber space.

Political or Religious posts belong in "Off Topic" but surly you can find other forums that host those discussions if it is your thing, I don't think anyone cares if you are Conservative or Liberal when we are out hunting gold nuggets.

You may not use this forum to advertise any other dealer, store, or product without written permission by owner at any time. Used items are allowed in the classified section.

This forum is not responsible for anything said by it's members at any time. This is a public forum and will remain so and although I can and will occasionally zap "bad content" I don't do it often and so far have never permanently banned a person. Also opinions expressed here do not always represent the opinion of the forum's owner!

Guests are welcome to browse the forum and use the information provided by registered members, but you can not post yourself until you are a registered member.

That is pretty much it my fellow Nugget Shooters so enjoy the forum, keep it clean and play nice.

    • I think it made the point nicely.  You got it. The fact that someone like you took the time to clarify, means that it doesn't refer to you.  Unless you're still saying, "this is just another flu". Out of everything else I've said, this was the one 'non-fact' as far as you can tell. You don't want to call me Sleepy Joe or anything like that?
    • That picture is very well known and was taken in 1958 in Algeria. The soldier is a Muslim Harki working with the French Foreign Legion 13e DBLE and there is no minefield. The donkey is war bounty, I don't know if there was any "love" involved. The soldier raised the young ass and named her "Bambi". Bambi was taken to France and became the FFL mascot. This story was very well known worldwide. Quite the heart tug in it's day. A very famous story about a famous donkey. And some idiot thought they could make up a different story from it to shame those that didn't agree with their opinions. Very typically human and really a symptom of what is wrong with modern media in my opinion. Use whatever "facts" come to mind to make your point. Why bother with the actual facts when the drama is so much more popular. Now if the ass was wearing an N95 mask... Maybe in hindsight this wasn't the best choice of material to make your point in a discussion about facts and perception of facts?
    • I should of paid more attention in geology class instead of jacking around all the time.  I decision I certainly do regret now.  The stone appears angrite like?? Correct me if Im wrong on that.  Mods, if my file size is too large Ill remove some of the photos.   I did my best to crunch them down as much as possible. Thanks
    • Understanding the Numbers: Provisional Death Counts and COVID-19 Provisional death counts deliver the most comprehensive picture of lives lost to COVID-19. These estimates are based on incoming death certificates, which are the most reliable source of death data and contain information not available anywhere else, including information about the place of death, other causes that contributed to the death, and race and ethnicity. How it works: The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) uses data from death certificates, which are sent to NCHS daily, to produce provisional COVID-19 death counts. These include deaths occurring within the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. NCHS also provides summaries that examine deaths in specific categories and in greater geographic detail, such as deaths by county or by race and Hispanic origin. COVID-19 deaths are identified using a new ICD–10 code. When COVID-19 is reported as a cause of death – or when it is listed as a “probable” or “presumed” cause – anywhere on the death certificate, the death is coded as U07.1. This can include cases with or without laboratory confirmation. Why these numbers are different than counts from other sources: Provisional death counts may not match counts from other sources, such as media reports or numbers from county health departments. Our counts often track 1-2 weeks behind other data because: • Death certificates take time to be completed. There are many steps to filling out and submitting a death certificate. Waiting for test results can create additional delays. • States report at different rates. Currently, 63% of all U.S. deaths are reported to NCHS within 10 days of the date of death, but there is significant variation between states. • It takes extra time to code COVID-19 deaths. While 80% of death records are processed and coded electronically at NCHS within minutes, most deaths from COVID-19 cannot be coded electronically and must be coded by a person, which takes an average of 7 days. • Other reporting systems use different definitions or methods for counting deaths. Things to know about the data Provisional counts are not final and are subject to change. Counts from previous weeks are continually revised as more records are received and processed. Provisional data are not yet complete. Counts will not include all deaths that occurred during a given time period, especially for more recent periods. However, the completeness of the data can be estimated by examining the average number of deaths reported in previous years. Death counts should not be compared across states. Some states report deaths to NCHS on a daily basis, while other states report deaths weekly or monthly. State vital record reporting may also be affected or delayed by COVID-19 response activities
    • Is my math wrong or is this a 4.2% death rate from this virus? I thought 99% of everyone who got the virus was "perfectly fine"? Looking at this data it seems the fatality rate for this virus is much higher in the U.S. than in most other countries! And almost 4X the seasonal flu! Is it true that 20% of Covid 19 cases require hospitalization to keep them from dying? I heard that somewhere. Probably fake news. Just like the fake fact that about 12% of the people who don't die and are "perfectly fine" have permanent lung damage, cardiac problems and other serious issues.  The obvious answer is to take away health care from these people. They are dragging this country down! If the number of cases is only due to the awesome number of tests we are doing then why is our fatality rate so high? Why are the Phoenix Hospitals at capacity? Why is Tucson sending patients to Albuquerque and Las Vegas for treatment? Why do we keep testing people if it is causing so much death and sickness? It sure seems like a Socialist conspiracy to me.  I heard on the fake news they are storing bodies in refrigerated trucks in Phoenix. And that 26% of tests in Arizona are coming back positive. This is obviously because we are testing too much! Numbers just don't lie unless they are fake. It is time everyone gets on the same page and realizes this is all a hoax to make our leadership look bad. We need to stop testing, throw these masks in the trash and ignore this problem. Get back to our lives. This is all a bunch of media hype. People are going to die anyway. I say just let them! We need to keep reminding ourselves that there is no problem as long as we refuse to admit it.
